I am sure that by now you have heard of my request to set up a modular space station in the system of New London, if not then here is a link to the original transmission (***).
Now then I realise that you all have much more important things to be doing in this desperate time of war with Gallia, however I have come across an issue relating to The Shard and I feel that this issue must be resolved for us to be able to move ahead with the construction of the station.
The Shard Wrote:As such we have two possible locations locations for the station.
i) Next to Planet Dover – this would be the primary choice.
ii) Next to Planet New London – this would be the secondary choice.
Bretonian Police Authority Wrote:Bases must be no closer than 10K from any existing base or jumpgate, unless special permission is granted by the War Cabinet.
You see, for construction of The Shard to go ahead in either of these two prime locations it would be in direct violation of existing Bretonian law and I will not go ahead with the construction whilst this remains the case.
This is why I have sent this transmission, to beg of you to grant me special dispensation so that The Shard may be exempt from this law.
Granting dispensation in this case will allow us to position The Shard in a Prime area of space where commerce is readily available whilst being connected to the trade lane network instantly. These two major factors will allow traders not only to become aware of the station much more quickly but it will also allow for fast and efficient trade with ourselves and so boost the local economy.
I hope that you are able to consider this request so that we may move forward with this project.
-With kind regards Thomas Wolsey
The Bretonian Government/War Cabinet have sent this to us to process. They have made it clear to us that the Law will stand as it is and that no dispensation will be allowed at this point in time.
We have, in the past, allowed others to have a dispensation and it has been proved a disaster.
With this in mind we are declining your request to build a Base, within Bretonia, unless it meets all requirements of the Bretonian Law.
.
.
This is truly a shame to hear, however not entirely surprising given the security risks that come with the construction of new space stations, especially ones owned by people that you may not be too familiar with. Thus I understand the reasoning to maintain the law in this case.
That being said I must ask one final time; is there nothing that can be done at our end to put the minds of the Bretonian Government at ease concerning this matter? we would like to work with the Government to make this happen if at all possible.
If however as I fear the answer will be, no. I hope that there will be no bad feelings between ourselves, and we will look for next best position for The Shard so that we may go ahead with the project and make it a success albeit without the best starting conditions.
As saddening as it is to hear this answer, we will still be moving ahead with the project and would like to thank the Government for taking the time to consider this matter even if it did not yield the best results for everyone involved.
We will send a new transmission via this channel (***) once we have selected a location that fits within the laws of Bretonia and await a reply from your end.
