<//Legend> Action Vaelin Vaelins brother (yetnamed) Jim (one of Anubis' AI's)
Anubis
The Anubis arrived back within the Sirius sector after traveling to worlds afar, the hollow ship still under the 'skeleton' crew that it had fled with consisting of machines controlled by the ships secondary A.I unit. The hull marked with old battle scars, residue of its battles between the Nomads, The Bounty hunters and then the Order. in the abundance of time spent in space, the Osiris had undergone several changes internally, much of what would have been the crews quarters and other related facilities had been removed, only leaving the officers quarters as well as the captains.
Although from the outside it would look as any other Osiris, internally it is vastly different from its original lay out. those that would seek to tress pass would come under scrutiny from the automated defenses, auto-turrets that were all protected from EMP, considerable steps had been taken to ensure that the ships defenses would not be overcome easily.
Once a ship with a small collection of people, now the only a singular inhabited the ship, the man himself had, had numerous names over the years and none of them sat quite right no matter how memorable they were to others, recently how ever, he had decided on one.
Vaelin ran his hand along the console, activating the HUD connecting his systems back into the Neural Net, how ever there were two separate grids, one for running the ship and one for dealing with systems outside the ship, it proved effective enough that those who hacked the mainframe could only access the files he stored on the external grid which was wiped once a week, any relevant information or files were manually transferred over, with a PDA or other such hard ware, his first order of business had been to track down a few unlucky souls that he desired to see and then, he would start the hunt for his sibling.
Vaelin landed the shuttle in the smouldering ruins of an outpost, the corpse of the building depicted the evidence that an explosion had rendered which was once a ‘safe’ house as nothing more than a husk of debris, like the many others there was a lack of bodies, suggesting either the occupants had been captured or had escaped although as to their health unknown for the device had obliterated any and all evidence. To the surrounding space there was no sighs of combat suggesting that what had happened was contained within the small complex.
At the centre of the ruins he would always find a recorded message from his ‘brother’ or which had once been his brother, they had been at odds since the start holding on the opposite spectrums of moral, Vaelin had been one to seek harmony and his brother one to seek chaos, though what his brother had become was something entirely different from himself, the risk of him reverting back was too much to risk, it was his responsibility. The messages were always begging to give him a chance that he was a better person, though it seemed sincere Vaelin had always had the implacable feeling that there was more to the situation than a simple path of redemption, maybe it was because his eyes and the way he seemed to be was completely different to who he was, no one changes so completely.
Whatever the purpose of targeting this place was, it was apparent that he would not find the cause, the trail of his brother had been something that was hard to follow and without the tech available to him, he’d of easily been thrown off due to the vastness of space covered. “I will find you little brother.” Leaving the ruins to the elements, Vaelin boarded the ship that he had procured from a incident with a thug of a man. He returned to the ship cloaked just outside Cambridge orbital defence grid, the AI guiding his ship into the hanger back. “We are getting closer.” The AI didn’t respond and for now they waited to see what trace they would find this time, finally they were nipping at his heels.
A metallic aroma of blood lingered in the air coupled with ammonia, a sign someone had attempted to at least mask what had transpired here. Vaelin crouched down his fingers trailed over the damp ground of where the blood has once been. Despite the overpowering smell of the cleaner he was able to locate the source the metallic smell scraping up a sample. Exiting the room he looked to either side of the hall way finding that it was barren, his eyes closed and when reopened his normally dull amber pupils this time took on a very vivid and fluorescent note. He turned his head from side to side and muttered a few incoherent words under his breath.
On the Anubis, Vaelin put the gathered blood into one of the analysing systems used to identify people, the results came up with a man who carried no distinction, plain background, name and work. It wasn’t until he ran them over the separate database that it would come up with one of the agents from within the order; however this man was more on the notoriety of being one of the gaolers to a project. “Not your job little brother. Wolf nipping at your heels and you still chose to darken souls.” Vaelin shook his head and returned to the command control of the ship and set it on its next waypoint.
Vaelin rechecked his gear, ensuring his equipment was ready for what was to come. He made his way to the back of the ship where the air lock was and paused. “jim, take over the ship, I’m going to take a step outside.” The AI unit gave no response but recorded the event as it always did, Vaelin moved forward and struck the button that would open the cargo bay door, the wind howling its fury at him as his boots magnetic grips activated to keep him from being torn from the ramp as he moved down. “Firefight down there is increasing, Vaelin – Whatever support your brother has fixed has become substantial.” The ship would hover in its location now being in right latitude for his drop down. “I know, it’s between two opposing forces, but it’s a risk I need to take, this is as close to my brother as I’ve gotten in a while, its worth the risk.” There was a moment of silence as there was no need for more to be said, Vaelin stepped out and started his decent, the Nephthys moved back into the outer orbit of the planet. While in his decent, Vaelin had the overhead images pulled up, the overlay showing the thermal images of the two groups, one side was gaining the upper hand, a small group broke away from the attackers and disappeared into the complex.
Thrusters mounted on his back decreased the rate at which he fell, assisting in this would be the ones attached onto the sides of his armor at his thighs, once he made landfall the four burners ejected off his combat armor and he made his trek through the snow, the burners shot up a screen of snow as they self-destructed. A blizzard held cover over most of the battle ground ensuring that his decent and approach had been covert, he removed the Assault rifle from his back and aimed down the sighs. His helmets visions swept over the land scope as the thermal function activated, his eyes glanced down to the device on the underside of his forearm which held a tactical overview of the area showing both his location and that of the combatants. It was some time before he happened upon them, those that he came across had not expected to be flanked with their enemies pinned down before them, using stun rounds he cleared the way past both defenders and the attacks so that he could enter the base, the wreckage of the front door would show that the base had been breached by way of explosives, he looked about carefully looking for any surprises left by those who had entered before him.
His path through the base remained uncontested apart from the occasional corpse he passed by, there were only a few instances of where evidence was shown of a fire fight but it was evident that nothing had been prepared against being breached, at least not yet. Through the hall ways he started to recognize the markings on the walls which caused him to slow down, once again his memory being thrown back to the past. Anger colored his vision and he momentarily forgot about his hunt, this place had been the home to much of the suffering he had undergone, though this discoloration in his judgment only lasted a moment it turned out to be a moment that would cost him, the shield equipped to his armor absorbed the first volley of shots fired before the pack’s energy source expended, he took cover to give it time to recycle. “Ah, big brother, ever so persistant.” The voice threatened to steal over his logic once again however he prevailed in control of it as his hand gripped tightly onto the trigger of his own rifle. “Persistence pays off, little brother.”
What followed was an intense but short firefight that ended with a single Grande, there was a blacked residue around the area of where the high explosive had been deployed, the smell of blood lingered in the air, certain bits of his brothers men laid on display about the area, his brother had left his men behind to stall him, and oppressive vibe lingered in the atmosphere as it always did when the taking of life. Vaelin muttered a few words under his breath to their passing but honored them no further than that. It was a while before he found trace of his brother in the deep underground complex, occasionally he would come across bodies but they had done little to slow his brother down, their bodies often exhibiting signs from being shot at with a sub-machine gun, one of them were still alive when he had ran past although he knew this to be a distraction to slow him down. The soft whimper from the person stopped him in his tracks, he gritted his teeth as he turned his gaze down to the person, their eyes were unfocused, showing that they were barely keeping conscious, tears were stained on the persons cheeks, his conscience persistently needled him, these people were his enemies but at this moment he was unable to summon the needed hatred to leave this person to their fate, his desire to chase after his brother was overcome by his unwillingness to leave the person in their current dying state this was coupled with his intuitive sense that doing so would be a grave error, he had learned to rely on his gut in the past however much it might displease him.
“The patient is stable, they will recover in time.” Jim’s holographic image hovered over the console nearby, three quarters of the way up the wall; the thin neon stripes remained persistent in their glow despite Jim occupying the console telling him that more than just one of the AI’s had their attention on him and the new arrival. “You’re body posture suggests a high level of agitation, is there concerns you wish to vent?” A brief moment of silence continued as he leered at Jim, though despite how hard one might try, making a machine sincerely feel emotion was something beyond his capabilities. “As close as I got, and my morality got in the way of the objective, one bloody person, I take pity on and I let my brother get away.” His tone was higher than he normally had it, and it often was when he exhausted his emotions which were only done in such situations. “If you had left the person behind, you’d be blaming yourself for doing so, in this instance it’s a lose-lose and if you had left her behind, that wouldn’t have been something you’d of done, there are many flaws you have but expedience in the face of benevolence is not one of them – wallowing in self-guilt at the possible outcome of future events will not cease them from occurring.” A long moment of silence followed after this in which Vealin left the room, he continued down the passage ways until coming to the training room which was the place in which he often further vented his emotions through physical exertion.
Weeks had passed since the facility and the person rescued had remained in a coma like state, having been near death. Vaelin did what he could to assist but in the end the AI used greater skill set to stabilize and save the person’s life. He over watched the procedure as the machines worked. The cloths of the person had been changed into that of a hospital gown, the remains of what they had been wearing inspected before being stored away in case they came of any use. During the times when he had nothing to do, he would come down to watch over the person with the assumption that they might wake up, they how ever did not.
The Anubis was now docked within Puerto Rico moored at Viequas Shipyard; the entrance to the Osiris was guarded by four combat androids as well as two human guards, which were within full power armor. Despite things having been worked out with the, Vaelin remained conscientious towards the integrity of the ship. He was to meet the Arbiter of the Junker Congress. He moved to his room and took a shower changing into his usual attire of a short sleeved shirt and Cotton and polyester pants, for this occasion he wore his trench coat, the inside of it was fitted with coolant. Unknown to all was that Vaelin had a condition that his body was prone to hyperthermia.
Three weeks and there had been no news of his brother any trail of him going cold and he knew now that his brother had some assistance that would prove to complicate things in the future. A small level of agitation always prickled at him when he thought of his brother and his ability to remain several steps ahead. He hoped that the person lived otherwise his choice in stopping to try save their life was a bad one. He knew his brother was spooked by how close he had gotten, for now it was a waiting game.
Vealin sat on the edge of the landing pad with the nose of his condor sheltering him from the sun. He had used his guise of Blaidd Bellator to gain entry to Manhattan, with the explanation of being of Omicronian origin left people with little reason to question the heavy armament. He had finally gotten a lead on his brother, although regrettable it was to this place, one of his least liked place in the sector, it had been thanks to a contact within the slums that had alerted him to his brother wandering about, Vaelin had sent out a picture to what contacts he still retained. Despite the time eclipsed in the search of his brother, he couldn’t shake the feeling of the convenience of him finally being located. Were things all so simple. Bitterness surfaced for a moment before he repressed it. Vaelin felt a soft unwelcome tingling haunt his exterior which caused him to look over his shoulder. The dock master made his way towards Vaelin, he had a PDA in hand and held an indifferent expression which was reassuring.
“Alright, Mister Bellator. Everything checks out, sorry for the delay.” The dockmaster offered a slender object to Vaelin, a key to the hanger he had requested.
Vaelin smiled softly giving a short nod. “Thanks and don’t worry about it.” He took the key and placed it into his pocket. His guns were still at his sides.
Two guards were watching them carefully, Vaelin had his attention on them as the Dockmaster spoke again. “I hope you don’t intend to take your weapons out into the public, that's likely to get you arrested. Normally it might be fine in the parts you come from, but its more civil here so there is no need.”
He almost replied with a defensive rebuke but thankfully bit his tongue before it was given breath. He nodded in acceptance, not that he was going to go unarmed, just meant that had to conceal them. “Very well.” He worked a sound of dissatisfaction into his accepting tone to further sell it.
The Dockmaster seeming more pleased offered his hand out to Vaelin and shook his hand. “Enjoy your time on Manhattan.”.
The sincerity in the man's tone surprised Vaelin vaguely. Entering the Condor Vaelin sat at the pilot seat and navigated it off the main landing platform and into the hanger allocated for his vessel. Activating the device he shut the hanger with himself inside, the lights of the Condor came on illuminating the surrounding area. Isolate. Vaelin activated the main core of the Condor which had remained dormant to prevent detection, the AI coming to life and used the external sensors to locate the security cameras and hacked their feeds. The lights of the Wolf’s Den shut off as the AI ran a looped recording, the windows as well tinting allowing no vision of the inside, when this was done it would all switch back.
“Surveillance loop complete, Location is secure.” A hologram of a wolf sat before him, this was his favorite companion and one anyone hardly knew of. Omega, it was imprinted with his own personality though it lacked his soul.
Vaelin nodded. “Thank you Omega, I wont be able to take my armor with me. We’ll stay connected via my forearm device, I’ll need you to tamper with any scanners to obscure the fact that I am indeed armed.” He reached for his trench coat and shifted it over his shoulders which helped conceal the weapons at his sides.
“Confirmed.” Omega’s visage brightened for a moment and Vaelin’s forearm mounted PDA vibrated as Omega integrated with it, it would maintain its connection through a hidden network transmitted from his ship. “Shadownet link established, running encryption protocols. Line secure.” Omega faded into the projection device.
Vaelin lingered behind looking out the window in thought before he turned the lights of the ship off and locked it down, he bypassed the cargo bay of his ship dropping to the ground before the ramp had fully touched down. After exiting the hanger the loop recording initiated, he headed to ground level and disappeared within the crowed. Once he had worked with he LSF under the guise of Jonathan Toledo, when he felt restless he would often come to these area’s and patrol to help distract his mind. He approached a poorly maintained house, the grass outside never being cut and there were a few crafts that looked more like scrap than salvage. He adjusted his weapons to be more easily acquired as he reached for the door knob. He pulled it from the socket, in its place he slid a slender rod which was scanned, replacing the knob he twisted it and opened the door as it unlocked. He proceeded to the basement where he once again inserted the rod into a hole in the floor where a slab of concrete elevated and produced an entrance into a bunker. He found Harrison waiting for him sitting in a seat, although there was something wrong. inhaling he found out just what was wrong, the scent of blood in the air was unmistakable, at least to him. [i]Back to-[/] It was already too late. A stun round struck the center of his chest which agonizingly convulsed his body, he was unable to move his hand’s out to stop himself from colliding with the ground.
A gentle hand lightly patted his cheek. “-ke up brother, come on, ah! there you go.” Bane moved back from Vaelin and sat down in the opposing chair. He held a dagger carelessly in his hand. “I am disappointed, I would have thought you’d of been quicker. Though in your defense, you do have a lot on your mind. don’t you.”
Rather than entertaining him Vaelin struggled against the bonds making no effort to hide it, his brother knew him well enough that there would be no denying it even if his attempts were perfectly hidden. “You killed Harrison, just kill me already.”
Softly smiling Bane shook his head, declining. “Harrison was already dead, though I doubt you’d be convinced.” In a more relaxed posture he reclined back setting the knife onto his lap with his right hand holding the blade. “You were always headstrong weren’t you.” With his left hand he motioned towards his struggling arms.
Shrugging Vaelin didn’t cease his movement. “I believe the term is stubborn, might surprise you at how receptive I am. We both know that you are no saint nor will I be one to fall for your manipulation.” His voice bluntly colored by hostility. “I know we both aren’t saints, but least I didn’t feed my darker side. You embraced it.”
“No, I merely didn’t fight what the Phantoms did to us.” Bane said as he moved to place the tip of the blade against Vaelin’s temple and lightly tapped it. “You always were Sanctimonious and a hypocrite, the beast is in you as well although you leash it to a greater extent than I. I know you well enough that you embody both benevolence and malevolence, one of the victim and the other for the inflictor.”
Pulling his head to the side away from the blade with every tap Vaelin spoke curtly. “And you were always manipulative and expedient, you haven’t exactly realigned your morality since your escape from them. You know I’ve been tracking you and have been seeing the destruction you’ve sowed.”
Bane chuckled softly. “You and I both know bother, that was not you who had come to the base or to the other sites. That was one of your clones, others might not see the difference but I see it plain as day, that spark in your eyes.” He shook his head. “You thought I wouldn’t know?”
Vaelin responded only with silence, still struggling. He had anticipated the capture but not the location. He had neglected to believe that his brother would find Harrison or even know about him, he was an old member of the Anubis Taskforce.
“Either way, unlike you. I’m not willing to kill family, thats your vice. What mine is, is revenge. You cost me this.” He motioned up to the scarring across his arms. “It is only fair.” the blade bit into the skin as he dragged it down the side of Vaelins face. Vaelin had refused to voice his pain and tried to jerk his head away which caused a small jagger in the blades path. “When you escape and get that stitched up, ask yourself. Do you even know who I am? I use to look up to you.”
Vaelin sat in silence, there was no keeping him any longer and he doubted that the back up he had stationed on the Condor would get here in time to stop Bane from escaping. It took thirty minutes of struggling before he finally freed his hands, one immediately going to the right side of his face to try cover up the gash from the freely bleeding wound. He found himself becoming increasingly more agitated that he had failed to sufficiently plan, a lesson he would now wear.
Solitude, It was something that often healed his wounds, taking the time away to think about what has happened, away from all the outside influences. It had been months since his encounter with his brother and even longer since he had last seen his dear sister. Continuously he tapped the glass bottle he held against the metal platform he sat on, due to both a lack of consideration and his mind focusing elsewhere the force increased shattering the bottom of the bottle which snapped him back to reality. He lifted the remainder of the bottle and then pitched down to look at the glass and liquid on the ground before letting the neck of the bottle drop as he stood up. His mind continued to maul over his brothers words, while his reason wished to give him the chance his intuition continued keep him off kilter.
“Ship signal detected: Anubis - Combat vessel, Osiris class. Approach vector, ETA One hour thirty four minutes.”
He knew who was coming and inside he was rather apprehensive, as much as he knew about his sister understanding him he often entertained the idea that one day she would be angry wit him. She was a rock to him in many ways and one he avoided for the apprehension that he weighed her life down. Unlike him she had been capable of putting the past behind her and moving on from it while he was stuck in his ways, reluctant to give up what was familiar or if it was his path in life he didn’t know and something his sister seemed to leave well enough alone. A small shudder trembled through the ship as the mooring ports connected. Omega handled all the protocols needed. Vaelin had relocated himself to the small living quarters of his ship where he had spent most of his time, although he didn’t admit it he enjoyed having a small place disconnected from everywhere which only one person could invade it. He heard her familiar footsteps before he saw her.
“I’m okay.” He prompted before she fully swang into view. his head turned to her as he was laid out on the bed, consuming most of the sitting space.
With the room on the bed mostly consumed, Mira instead moved to sit on his stomach, slightly dropping down causing him to flinch somewhat. “So anything but?” She questioned as she lent down to kiss his forehead before righting herself.
He rolled his eyes and entwined his own fingers together and rested them over his chest. He did not often admit it the contact of his twin often found a way to steady his mind. “Well we have gone over on occasion what that word really means.” He rested his head against the pillow and closed his eyes. ”I can’t settle my mind on my brother, I want to be able to forgive him but.” He let his words fall off.
“But your intuition begs you otherwise?” She moved a hand down to ruffle in his hair and noticed the tension from his shoulders settle. “You should have come home brother.”
The disappointment in her voice enthralled him a pang of guilt, a soft frown. “Yea - I know.”He admitted reluctantly. “But, I didn’t want you to deal with this, again.” He twisted his head slightly to displace her hand.
She retracted her hand and set it on her lap. “You are too concerned about the ethics that you still yourself in the present. You just need to be yourself.” She laid down against his side and wrapped her arms around him as he did in turn. “You’ve never been one to follow your mind, trying to now.” she closed her eyes and let her words trail off.
His eyes remained closed as he hugged Mira something they use to do as children - they had a bond as any twin did and even their own language. “Mistakes are how people get hurt and I know nobody's perfect but I can’t be faulted for trying.”
“You can, when you lie to yourself so much that you are no longer you - You do what you believe is right, not what you think is right.” She nuzzled her head into his neck.
“I am just conflicted, he’s our brother and I am not as sure of him as I was once before at least not in my mind. I’ve condemned myself to kill him but where does that leave him to turn to.” He turned his head down to rest his chin on the crown of her head.
“Stop being who you’re not and start being who you are.” She sighing softly she relaxed herself into him. “You aren’t the monster you think you are in your head, you are too worried about that. That you don’t do what is necessary. You will never be the person you aim to be.” She knew her words would hurt him. “I wish he could be saved.”
Vaelin’s eyes opened slowly to gaze across at his sister. His mind swam with fogginess, he had never been a morning person. He listened to her calm breathing and kissed the her forehead as he got out of the bed and pulled the blankets over her shoulders. There was a simple tradition between them, the cooking of eggs and bacon between two slabs of buttered bread. To most it would seem like a small thing but this was the meal they shared together when they were reunited after being separated as children. After moving from the kitchen he went to the cockpit of the ship and activated all the systems, briefly information flooded the panels, he moved his hand to the back of his neck turning on the neural up-link. What had been on the monitors hang before his eyes as he stared off into the distance, blinking a few times his attention turned from it and his vision turned back to normal. He set the ship on a pursuit course of the Anubis as he moved to collect his sister from the bedding quarter, a droid collected their food. His sister had always been a wisp of a thing, the grace of a dancer and to him a representation of life. His own thoughts on his life how ever fashioned him as a reaper and someone who was inclined to end life.
A lot of things had been on his mind lately, not just the issues with his brother but the morality of it brought up by one of the snows. Truthfully he didn’t see it from the angle, as such it was more of the opposite that it was a responsibility for him to stop his brother from harming others even if it meant ending his life. What also troubled him was the actions of those who were supposedly his allies, he had wished to serve with them towards a better future but it had seemed that his previous thoughts about the nomads were anything but true. Having once been a high ranking Order agent even before the formation of the Order primary fleet, he had training in recognizing temperament changes and these changes he noticed in himself. An increase fondness for the nomads and his malevolent attitude towards humans, they were beyond his own personal core. He was not one to be loyal based on the past but on the present and as days had passed his mind had undone the knots. He regarded the nomads with less enthusiasm than when he had first stepped back into the madness that was the Omicrons. He had always been the type to be loyal to the people in the group and less so to the group on that principle alone. He still held onto the memory of the nomad he had encountered in times past, which held more of a business friendship than an actual friendship. They had benefited each other and had in ways coexisted, something which had not repeated itself here.
He set Mira down into her bed. She had a few bits of furniture in her room which he would often lounge on at times as he waited for her to wake in the past. He had always been more restless than her and his sleep was often on broken patterns that sometimes didn’t allow for him to achieve a resting state again. He placed the two dishes of food in a heat preservation module. The one thing he believed he did right in life was the protection of his sister, there was much he regretted and a lot of it was something he didn’t believe there was atonement for.
It had been months since his run-in with his brother. The glass he now looked at held the visage of a man was identical to him, all except for the badly healed scar on the side of his face. Leaving both the stasis pod and cryogenic chamber he made his way toward the bridge. He had been laying low for the last few months to ensure that what tampering the nomads had done on his physique was rectified and he was once again of his own free will. His brother had been abnormally quiet and Vaelin had assumed his brother would have taken the advantage of his absence, but it appeared he had been as quiet as Vaelin. During his near complete isolation, he had been productive. Previously having garnered the supplies he needed for repairs to the cloaking device as well as a surplus for the inevitable mishap. Though repaired to near specifications, the once continuous cloak was now only temporary and required external power to hold the effect, this fact annoyed him and he knew it was not optimized, though he felt safer now that it was not completely inert. During his self-imposed isolation, it was his sister who provided the company that staved off cabin fever. Thinking of his duties to his family was always a point of considerable guilt and belittling knowing that he was a bad father and a horrible and absent father. Vaelins gazed turned to the bridges viewing ports and onto the vessel: The Eye of Horus which remained stationary on the starboard side, maintaining its constant vigil. An unmarked transport also was slightly removed from the military ships and stationary, it’s responsibility was gathering supplies for the Anubis and the Horus that either couldn't simply get during the few times they docked at shipyards or freeport stations. The Anubis housed a small number of residence, all were those who sought protection from corporations in which they didn't have the power to resist, some had opted to help him as a way of paying their due while others simply left. Since Vaelins disappearance, they had a protocol to find a safe region of Sirius to buckled down in and become essentially sleeper agents. Settling into the captain's chair he turned his attention to the abyss. Allowing his mind to wander, he could almost hear the commotion that teemed on the bridge back in the vessels earlier days, when the Black Squadron was still about, of the incoming shouts as ships tried to breach Toledo’s defence perimeter. Tearing his mind from the past and focusing on the present, he initiated the Anubis’ bridge terminals. A holographic Hud hand in the air before his seat, For the next hour, he busied himself with ensuring that all checks were complete so he could ignite the belly of the beast.
It took two weeks before the Anubis finally came upon the fringes of what could be considered civilization. Omicron lost had always been one of the favoured systems of Vaelin, a place of tranquillity that was right in the heart of a region so prone to anarchy. Vaelin moved to the navigation console where he set a course for the last known location for the Jumphole to Omicron Delta, his least favoured system. The Eye of Horus remained in lost in the shadow of the planet keeping a vigil on Omicron Delta from afar, while the Anubis utilizing its cloaking device to conceal it as it jumped to Omicron Delta. Before the Anubis’ departure from the system it had left behind a sensor probe, to detect if any cloaked ships sliped through while the Horus was left alone. Once in Omicron Delta the Anubis set course for Freeport Eleven and moored with the station upon its arrival. Vaelin used the time that it took for the mooring crew to load the provisions, to send word out to his people letting them know that he was once again active. He didn't tell them his reason for his disappearance nor did he have an intention of doing so, though he theorised that in the future, it might come back to bite him in the arse. For now it wasn't a concern and that’s how he hoped it would stay. Upon the mooring couples detaching as he set the Anubis’ course back to delta, he took notice of a vessel coming upon scanners. The Eye had not warned him of it as it was but a Transport class ship, his interest in it was with who it belonged to. He returned to his captain's chair to broadcast on the local chat. He had heard rumours of them prior to his leaving, about their adeptness with high-tech devices and Like a dog to a bone set out to deliver a sales pitch. Despite the paranoia in that he needed to get the ship moving he stayed and talked to the captain for a small length of time. Putting forward his intended deal and asking him to pass it along.
Once more the Anubis set off toward Omicron Lost under cloak. After tractoring in the probe left at the jumphole, the ship itself moved toward the Resheph with Vaelin transferring over to the transport ship. It was weeks later when he arrived at his destination within the sigma quadrant. Hours onto that he was aboard Newport station, being dropped off with the supplies picked up along the way. Broadcasting a string of activation codes to the Sigma sector, the Wolf’s Den making it’s way towards Newport, with hours to spare Vaelin headed toward the bar, after only spending a half hour in the bar he moved on finding no jobs that were in line with his repertoire. Vaelin spent the next few hours sleeping in the room he had brought having secured the door against intrusion. Now on the Wolf’s Den and sitting in the pilot’s seat he left Newport seeking to stay there no longer than needed. His next destination didn't take as long as the prior thanks to being able to pilot and move more freely. He took time looking over the notes of the disguise he had assumed with this ship.
