Chloe hopped off the stopped shuttle, and began walking down the suburban street towards her friend's home. A jogger suddenly ran past her, surprising the woman a little. But it had certainly been a pleasant afternoon for a run, with daylight only now beginning to fade. She quickly glanced at her phone, then began to walk a little faster, muttering, "Just after five twenty. With luck she won't mind that I'm late ... "
She was walking on the sidewalk, along a series of large, wealthy homes. When Durand reached the one owned by Selan and her husband, she turned left, and approached the front door. Just about to ring the bell, she heard ... the faint sound of a whistling teapot. Chloe, not meaning to overwhelm, waited a brief moment until the sound ceased, then rang the bell.
Taking out a couple of mugs and placing them on the bench, Selan had just reached into a cupboard to grab some sugar when the doorbell rang, breaking the silence left by the faded whistling sound of the kettle. She glanced across the bench to the lounge screen, which now had a popup window showing the outside camera view, embedded into the door. "Just a sec!" she called, making her way to the lounge. Selan tapped on the control remote to open the door and simultaneously closing the camera window on the screen, before returning to the kitchen, leaving the remote on the lounge table. "Come right in Chloe, end of the hallway! Want something to drink?"

"Just a sec!" announced Selan, her voice muffled by the walls between them. The door in front of Chloe unlocked, then opened by itself. Her friend continued, "Come right in Chloe, end of the hallway! Want something to drink?"
"Of course. Which ever tea you have brewing will be fine." she responded. Now inside, she gently shut the door, then hung her jacket upon the coat tree. Durand noticed a new photo on an interior wall of Selan and Arek together, likely from their last vacation to Lyon. Of all the properties the Maxims owned, this is by far the most modest. But in more ways than the mainly traditional furniture and few wall adornments. The building itself is a one-story home, which is rather uncommon for a neighborhood like this.
She approached the lounge area, and stood across from Selan in the kitchen, resting her arms on the counter that divided the rooms. Chloe stammered a little, again not knowing precisely where or how to start, "I'm ... curious, mon ami. Your husband is a good man, and does his job very well. We both know that, as we both know him. But the man who he - well, all the armed division - works for; outwardly, he's a good leader. Yet he oversteps his authority, and we really don't know who he is."
"I know, I've talked to you before about all this, but I feel more free to discuss it when Arek isn't with us. What do you honestly think about the General?"
