Freelancer ID Ptrain with a docking module your mate on a pirate ID bomber in it. Cargo piracy at it's best.

Honestly, with them now taking up only a laughable 5 units there's little reason not to mount modules on any ship that can.

You can have a shared ship docked on your transport for a buddy to log when necessary, for example.

You can't.

Every time he dock on a planet/pob the ship docked on his ship will be ejected, therefor docking module is totally useless right now..

About that. I've spent a fair amount of time debugging it and there is no real automatic solution to fix the problem due to the conditions that make it happen. Whenever I get around it I'll remove the automatic jettison and only leave informative messages letting the owner know who's docked on the ship when they enter a base. I'll add a /jettisonall command as well to quickly purge docking modules if they aren't meant to have anyone aboard.

Manual ejection? That sounds like a compromise,a good one if i may say so...
Owners of ships who do have a docking modules installed will certainly take care of that when in need

Really? It used to work just fine, as long as you didn't log the docked ship when the docking ship wasn't logged. Oh well.

how do docking modules work, do things still take up an arbitrary amount of space within the module? for example having 3 light fighters, or 2 VHF, or one bomber in the same module.

?

This is what you'll see when you dock on a base or log ingame and there's a ship in a docking module
[Image: iTPtnJz.png]

If you use /jettisonall it will throw them in space immediatly (from the proxy base, so don't do that if it's legit players)
