I'm having a lot of difficulty connecting to the server and I seem to be having a lot of peoples symptoms all at once. I have only been able to connect successfully to the server twice in the past 3 days. I'll open up the launcher and start the game and it will often just crash to the desktop, other times it will start up and I'll get through to connecting with the server and it tells me that it's timed out. Other times it will load my character and then it will time out and disconnect me. I have had the graphics card fault outlined in this thread as well: http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=123675 though not to many times, and I tried the solution but I couldn't even start the game then cause it came up with an error saying that d3dx9_26.dll is missing. I've tried re-installing both vanilla and the mod many times now but I'm afraid I'm all out of ideas
Character name is Martinique
Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.
1. Did you add Freelancer as exception to your firewall? When first starting to play, it asked me if I wanted to add it.
2. Your symptoms sounds like what happens to me when something else is eating my internet bandwidth (any sort of downloads or sometimes even browsing picture-heavy sites). Try stopping any other kind of downloads including windows-updates, steam-updates, etc
3. If you got W-Lan, make sure your reception is good. Maybe try plugging it in to LAN for a test.
4. Sometimes my game crashes to desktop too, but not often. I think that has nothing to do with the time-outs.

1. I've turned off all anti virus and disabled everything
2. I never play FL while doing other things on the internet, but I did try to run a youtube clip while I did manage to get on yesterday and when I ping'd the server I only had 4% lag.
3. I have wireless internet and I've got the cable plugged into one of the fast ethernet ports and into the computer.
It seems that my problem has changed now that I can always connect to the server when I first start the game up and I can choose a character but it always starts loading then just crashes to desktop. and if I try to re-load to early it bans me. I have been able to get online a couple of times which leads me to believe that it's not anti-virus etc. When I am able to play the game it runs perfectly.
I've had the same problems as you the last week Spoon.Train,
couldn't stay online long enough for even a ping check.
Before the latest launcher update, i had to knock my in-game
performance options down to be able to stay on.
With the latest launcher update, i had Change my desktop
resolution to the same size as in-game to be able to get on,
it's working fine now, even with the performance put back up, it seem's.
Definitely something to do with Graix compatibility.
