"Never enable open SP when playing online" - what happens and what does it mean..?

I saw that sentence in the Discovery readme file....?

I actually enable open SP so that I can play either online on Discovery SP or play the open SP mod just as a single player...

What happens if I try that? Will it wreck the multiplayer game (eg: accideental speed mod) and how can I tell somehting funny is happening..?

Also --- I think I deactivated and reactivated the Discovery Mod a few times to try open sp and normal sp but I never had to replace the content.dll file.. is something wrong? I have made a backup of the file already.

I don't know, mate. Open SP has always been activated on mine, and I've never had any problems.

Nothingh appened to me, and i had it enabled for 3-4 weeks. It shouldn't actually change any online aspect of the game.

Well, you get a strange screen when creating a new character, showing Trent in the uniform and starting money you have chosen when configuring OpenSP; nothing else ever happened to me though.

I believe it also happens when open singleplayer isn't activated, but it switches to the last uniform selected methinks.
