Making own faction before hardening in many already existing factions will bring you only pain, mate. I know you are nice fella and you're burning to make it, so I just hope pain will be smaller.
My advice would be to fly more with my BHG| mates, learn a lot now and maybe apply later. They are nice dudes too.
