I think every major battle that hasn't taken place directly in front of a docking ring be remembered by placing wrecked ships at the battle site. And I mean like full sized dreadnoughts that were destroyed by an RP character like for instance Mon'Star.

Or even say like an infamous player who was banned. Put like a wreck of his last owned ship in a remote corner of the battle prison system. Or the system in which they committed their crimes. Then in-RP explain their crimes.

that can quickly become a whole lot of wrecks - the junkers joy might become the other annoyance. - there can be a FEW playermade monuments - but they should be rare. - if there were too many, their significance would fade.

but who decides what wreck is "worthy" to be placed as a permanent monument in the game?

I agree with Jinx, Although its a good Idea. That would bring a whole series of "Importance" questions. As to, who is more important in the game. The Giant beastly dreadnaughts and battleships tearing through a system. Or the small squad of fighters and bombers that held it off for the few brief seconds for all the Traders and civilians to escape unharmed.

This Wreck Idea is all a matter of perspective. The wrecks already currently in game have some significance to the game( No offense to LPI or LN ). The wrecks in NY in the badlands are Corrupt cops and Officers if i remember correctly, they are carrying cardi. Which should, In a sense, show that not even the so called "Lawful" factions are the Knights in shining armor they are Supposed to be.

I'm pretty sure the Cardamine wreck is a Bloodhound, actually.

Besides....z21 and the minefield would become a navagational hazard..nothing bigger than a starflea could even think of moving in there.

Only large, planned engagements should be remembered. Those planned events that either have great significance or had lasted for a sustained amount of time.

For instance, wrecks in Dundee, an Osiris wreck in Sigma 17 where the Altaneria was destroyed in the RM-TBH war (Of course I remember this one well ...), and other large, planned, sustained and significant events.

Of course, i've been waiting for this for a long time, but I digress for the reasons that this wont happen; that is, this mod is for other servers as well as our own to run, they may want to RP in a different way, and they certainly wont be versed in the wars that have been on the discovery official server...

"... here we have the infamous bounty hunter battleship ZOMGLOLPWNZ0R, last commanded by Jimmy Caphoar III. The huge vessel was wrecked through the power of the almighty admins on October 11th 817 A.S., due to suspected -- and later confirmed -- credit hacking."

So yeah... let's stick to planned events and stuff.
