I have a question concerning shooting ships of your own ID. The rule currently says:

Rule 1.3 Wrote:1.3 Every player must have one ID equipped on their ship. Player should follow the restrictions and allowances listed in their ID and their roleplay and conduct must match the actions of their characters. In cases where these restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules.

However, almost all unlawful IDs have the line "Can engage any ship within their ZoI, except transports" which doesn't exclude ships of the same ID. As stated in the 1.3, the ID overrides the rules, so technically it's not sanctionable if one shoots ships of his own ID? Another example would be corporations that have the line "Can assist any lawful or neutral ship anywhere." to assist another lawful/neutral ship against their own ID. Is that also rule breaking?

The ID would override the rules if it would explicitly state that one "Can engage any ship within their ZoI, including shps of the same ID, except transports". Since that's not the case, there is nothing overwritten.

Except that it's not defined anywhere in the rules that you aren't allowed to shoot your own ID, so there's no point in specifying it.

because it's common sense to most people. does every piece of common sense in disco need to be listed in the rules?
the only exception to the rule was the OC civil war, but that was highly managed with conditions and restrictions.

if a ship of the same ID shoots you, well that'd still be legitimate self-defence.
