I was born the runt of the family, my brothers and sisters almost all moved on, all except my brother Fal'ten. He always watched out for me. When the rest of our brothers and sisters moved on to their own lives, Fal always looked after me. My race, the Krem'tel was a scientific race, we marveled at space and exploration. It was apart of our blood, it was programmed into our heads from a young age that science, was the only goal in life. Achieving it was second to none. But I was different.
I aspired in music. The melody of it. It was a language of it's own. I marveled at how one simple song could speak so much to me. How much it could speak to anyone. The different speeds and tones could tell a completely different story from another song. One song may tell the story of an elderly Krem'tel who had seen more things in his life than any Krem'tel could hope to dream of, and another song could tell of the warrior spirit that is said to exist in us all.
My mother and father encouraged me to follow my dream, and that I did. However I still enlisted on a science vessel named the Fremta. That very same ship was the first science vessel to discover the beings known as "Human". A strange furless race who yerned for war. They were an amazing race, and their ability to weild destructive weapons was simply stunning. I was amazed at them. As our two races began to get to know one another, I discovered their ability to create beautiful music as well. Slow, fast, sad, and happy...their database of music was stunning.
When our vessels were attacked by a sinister race calling themselves "The Zeta" our two ships were seperated, and me and my elder brother were stuck on the Human vessel which fled back for their own space. We decided to attempt to discover our own way home, but stumbled on to a sub-space anomoly which drug us across the Galaxy and spit us out in, ironically, the same space as the Humans were from...Sirius.
Now me and my brother, we look for a way to get back home, all the while looking for some way...somehow...to earn a living in this strange new world.
Vhy I came with my brother, I have not figured it out. Maybe it because he so small...I get vorried for him. I never understand vhat he is saying half of the time, all this talk about music and how it brings tear to his eye, bah! Rubbish. I love my brother much, but he is so odd. All his talk about music gives Fal headache. Just vant him to shut up half of time. Always try and talk his vay out of situation. I just figure fists out and punch lights out. That always fix problem.
...maybe that vhy ve always on run...
----
"Damnit Fal!" I screamed running down a adjacent cooridor.
"He gave me bad look." Fal replied, his bulky mass running next to me with ease.
"Maybe next time you should ask politely-"
"You have much to learn little brother."
"We both do. There, that hallway, go."
We both turned down the hallway and were met with another force of humans.
"Notice how they looks so veird with out fur?"
"Shut up Fal and do something!"
Fal gave me a dirty look and a shrug.
"Vhat you vant me to do? Cast some old Krem'tel magic?"
Now it was my turn to give him the dirty look.
"No, try looking around." I said hitting the switch and opening the chute under us eposing the matinence tunnels below.
"Ah, that vhat you mean."
"Yeah, lets go Fal." I said dropping down next to him and sealing the hatch behind us.
