Admins ignore everything, do not even get an acknowledgement to an appeal post.
So admins for one player reply saying it is being discussed, as are all appeals. (From a ban nearly 4 months ago)
For another player, who has been discussed at length multiple times over the past months, they also get a reply which includes an answer, because we know the answer because of recent discussion of the ban for that player (From a week ago) , and all hell breaks loose?
So you just want us to keep 6 months irrespective, no discussions on each player etc.?

No, that's not what is being asked.
This thread is just another outlet that shows the kind of insecurity of the community about the standards of the staff.
By violating your own protocol, by going against your own rules, people justifiably ask themselves: what are the standards now? Moreover, many are also still angry.
Of course no one wants a ban appeal after 4 months to be just cast aside with an automated statement: "It's 6 months. Come back in 2 months."
What is needed is exactly the opposite. A human face, clemency when needed, strictness when required, good judgement, and most crucially: conversation between staff and banned party that results in a real understanding of the situation.
Whether that is after 4 weeks, 3 months or 6 months should be entirely dependent on the players involved, the severity of the crime and ultimately again human judgement. Opinions can change. Behaviour can change. Decisions made can look unwise in retrospect, so there is no necessity to stick to a fixed ban time and say: "It's 186 days, see you then".
So please do not interpret this as a call for unrelenting punishment, because it actually is the opposite.

I am talking about the "exceptional action".
And I doubt you want me to write everything up that was wrong with it here.
It would not only go off topic here, but also be unnecessarily inflamatory.
If there is a real question involved, hit me up on Skype any time and I'll explain.
The only thing exceptional about these particular bans was that admins knew they would upset a large number of people by banning some of these individuals, but they did it anyway.
People have been banned for being "toxic" before, people have been banned for criticizing the wrong people before, people have been banned without giving reasons or evidence before, people have been banned for things they said on Skype before, and people have also gotten banned for a lot less, because they were "nobodies" to the community.
Yes, there are also people who have been just as toxic and just as rude, or even more so, without suffering any consequences. The reason they got away with it was precisely that they had similar or more influence than these 2 guys. I think the bans are (hopefully) a signal that people should not feel safe from sanctions because of their "influence" and "contributions" anymore, and not take their friends and accomplishments as a license to act like bungholes towards others, which has been a problem with more people than those who got hit now, since forever.
The admin's problem is that the old "as long as we have enough players here we do what we want so if you don't like it there's the door" line isn't working anymore, but at the same time they have to somehow stop toxic people from driving more people away. Not an easy task, especially when people's sense of "justice" has been warped by the way things were handled before, where who you knew mattered more than what you knew or how you acted.
What I do agree with is that admins did a terrible job at explaining the reasons why each individual got sanctioned, and shouldn't have just put them all in the same box, thereby accusing each individual of all the things the others did, which was wrong.
More important than the punishment is making known the exact behavior that is deemed unacceptable. But that's really just consistent with how bad sanctions have always been handled since forever here.

It's a call for attention from someone who wanted to be told to stay to feel important

because everyone who points out an obvious issue is an attention whore
