Dex looked out the huge reenforced glass window of the Runner, a bottle of whiskey held limply in his hand. He sighed, and took another swig of the liquer.
"Computer, Any messages?" He asked.
An electrical buzzing echos through the bridge for a few seconds while the speakers warmed up.
" Yes sir." the computer replied, using a soft female voice.
"Three new messages."
" From who?" He asked, turning around.
"One from the rogue encountered three weeks ago. And two from Cyris." The computer intoned in the soft, feminine voice.
"Delete all the messages from Cyris" Dex said quickly, while putting the stopper back into the bottle of whiskey.
"Turn on the projector and display that rogues message, i wanna see it"
"Yes sir." the computer replied. The electrical buzz shrank as the computer diverted power to the holographic projector, looted from a newly found wreck's cockpit.
The projector turned on with a blinding white flash that made Dex shield his eyes with the bottle of whiskey.
" Dex, i've got ma'self a fine mess here, an i'd like you to clean it up. i'll pay you half a million now, an' half a million later if you clean it up fully. No evidence." came booming out of the aging speakers, a full second out of sync with the projector, which was displaying a Female dressed in a set of coveralls, that left little to the imagination.
"If you want the job, then meet me in the Galileo system, i'll contact you you again once you get your peice of scrap over there. Akira out." The last word echoed through the bridge for a few long seconds while Dex stared at the frozen image of the rogue.
"Wonder how much cardimine she'd want before taking that off..." He mused to himself.
"Orders sir?" The computer asked in an even softer tone.
"Hmm oh... Set a course for the galileo system. Half power." He replied.
"Oh and shut off the speakers, that buzzing is getting to me" He added.
The speakers powered down, leaving only the faintest hint of buzzing. the ship slowly began to turn, lining up for the nearest E class anomaly, slowly diverting increasing amounts of fuel the the reactor.
Dex looked out the scarred plastiglass again, a smirk playing across his face.
