Je suis Arnaud Rouge. I'm not sure if you still remember me contacting you about a meeting a few years ago. Sadly sometimes life has other plans with us than what we've scheduled for ourselves, accept my sincere apologies for not being able to attend, s'il vous plaît. On the other hand I heard the political starscape has changed so much in Picardy over the years, that... mon dieu, what even happened to the Cave du vin...? But I digress...
Well, not really. I still contact you because of Picardy. Some rumors claim that with The Council's occupation of Haute-Seine and Saint-Quentin, and of that area altogether, your employees have difficulties reaching Guise Mining Facility, even for the most basic maintenance supply deliveries. I might have a solution to that, Monsieur. Obviously not a simple and completely legal solution, after all someone will inevitably have their hands dirty to get The Council ease their grip on traffic going through that node, and thus it won't be for free either. Knowing, however, what is actually at stake, let me ask you: Are you interested?
To: Arnaud Rouge
Priority: Moderate
Topic: Guise Mining Facility
Monsieur Rouge,
It has been many years since I have received a communication from you. How have you been keeping?
Talk about the changing landscape, hah! it is changing so rapidly that I have difficulty keeping up with it. Not 5 minutes after a link is opened up in to Rheinland, that my Explorers find their Underworld is encroaching in to it. Provence appears to be under new management and we are unable dock at many of the places we traded with. There again, they have left out holdings there, alone. So, not all is lost, I would say.
Mon dieu! I have no idea what to say about Picardy. Now I find the Council has taken over half the System and cut off, as you say, Guise. The Council and their friends sometimes take pot shots at my Miners and Traders, I suppose it depends on how bored they are. No lasting harm has come to them, but it has been rather frightening for some.
Now do to business. You have me intrigued with what you are suggesting. Can I suggest that you lay your cards on the table and I will see what you have got to offer? If I am able, I will do what I can to protect the Gallic Metal Service, but there is only so far I will go as there are many eyes still watching, if you understand my meaning.
I am sure I can make a trip to Toulon and whilst inspecting there, take a short hop over to Monte Carlo. I do hope you know a good bar or two.
I await your response.
Cordialement,
Pierre St.Denis
