Am setting up discovery freelancer on a mates pc so he can play single player as he has no Internet. Problem is I noticed you can save the game and exit to the main menu and reload the saved game but if you exit the game entirely the saved game seems to dissappear? Any help solving this would be much appreciated
Discovery automatically does this due to some multiplayer issues, the only way to prevent it is by manually moving your saves from the folder and adding them back when you need them
I am having this issue as well but when I copy/paste them back into the folder the save games do not show up in the game. Any work around? I noticed on another thread that someone suggested launching from the freelancer exe. I tried this as well but that causes resolution issues. I have tried using HUD shift but that doesnt seem to work.
I have two entire Freelancer setting and saves folders. One for Disco and the other for Vanilla. I just switch the two folders and their entire content depending on whether I'm loading up vanilla or Disco.
Open your "Documents - My Games - Freelancer - Accts - Singleplayer."
Enter any your saved position here - one, all, it does not matter.
Keep the folder open.
Prepare your DSLauncher.
When you select/press "Launch game", then the running game will delete all your saves. That's a why you need to have some saves there, to see when. Although it can be estimated later.
When are all saved position deleted, you have some three second to paste them back. The positions will remain here until the new start of the game.
Keep your saved position in any folder from where you will stock and copy them. You can't copy/paste them from "Documents - My Games - Freelancer - Accts - Singleplayer", because deleted
saved position, when the game is loading , cannot be copied.
PS: Note that deleting a saved position has a good reason and may result in a crash if saved positions from another version of the game are saved.
