My name is Neville Castor, Acting Commander of the Vespucci Home Guard.
Responding to one of our independent units, Gamma One out of Monterrey reported an unidentified installation in Vespucci named 'Elysium', close to the defunct Phoenix Shipyard site. Prior to the Commonwealth's dissolve and the Legion's operations within Vespucci extending to secure the system, the Legion has no file regarding your station or any communication within the appropriate channels that involves its registration. What information we can find relating to your station and the Legion involves a considerable amount of understanding with the previous leadership of the Legion, despite being unregistered.
In addition to this, Gamma One managed to make a landing aboard the station, coming to the understanding that it was a station under Deep Space Solutions' administration, a corporation that while legal in Legion space did not once make any communication to the Legion or now defunct Commonwealth as to the construction or declaration of such station. Elysium also appears to be in critical shape, with automated platforms still in place, though corroded through time, no crew or amenities, despite being a large station, and a worn hull with cracks and clear signs of neglect. While not a sight we abhor, it is shameful that such a station, given its owner's history with the Legion, is in such disrepair.
Despite all of this, the Legion and the rest of the Insurgency will acknowledge the existence and administration of the station so long as continual contributions are made to restore the station by the administration, and that monthly fees are submitted to the Legion for the rent of what is officially Legion space.
The details of which can be discussed after confirmation of the reception of this transmission. Should no information be received from the owners of this station, or a hostile sign be shown, the Legion will mark operations to proceed with the rapid deconstruction of the station.

Neville is it? Hello there Neville. I read through your message and i do appreciate some parts of it. And maybe i would be displeased or even angry at the notion of you asking me money for the base being in your space. But since this is not our installation anymore, i really dont give a rats ass about it. Nothing personal or insulting towards you. Im just honestly expressing my disposition towards this particular installation. Now, me being the kind and good woman that i am, i will even rely this message to the new owners, so you may resolve your disputes with them. As for Deep Space Solution, we still exist, as self acting cells, scattered here and there.
As for the right for that base to be there, there was an ongoing arrangement with your prior leaders and frankly maybe you should ask for the records there. They didnt take any money from us back then and they even helped us in defense against then criminal organisation Commune. Maybe you should re evaluate your new leadership if extortion is in your arsenal now. Again, what was before, was before, we are not in your space anymore aside from a maybe few families on Guadalajara. I hope you wont look for them and ask for extra rent money. Good day to you Neville and to your people as well.
The Legion will be awaiting confirmation of your statement from the owners of the station. As it stands, however, the station remains broadcasting an internal message claiming it as property of Deep Space Solutions, and we therefore made the assumption that the station was still yours. No documentation was made confirming or even pointing to the transition of ownership of the station, and we had assumed the station was either abandoned or severely neglected.
Once confirmation is made, then we will arrange an agreement with the administration to coordinate a set of terms that both parties can agree to.
As for the right for it to be there, extortion is a harsh term for rent of space invariably under the direct control of the Hellfire Legion. We can respect the past actions of the Legion with who we can only assume was your late husband, but future actions will be made under new protocol. Any personnel on Guadalajara will be subject to the same requirements they were under the Commonwealth before their dissolution, as well as any who happen to reside in Legion space. The next time you transition ownership of a modular station within Legion space, please be sure to notify the Legion so that we can skip these unfortunate outreaches.

Greetings Mr Castor.
I do personally apologise for the tardiness of this message as it only reached my desk after a unsuitable amount of time involving having our nearest comm relay sync up with the base's communications system to check if there were any latent inbound and outbound communications slated for us. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Marcus Galway, representative of the League and Chief Adjuantant to the Patrician and I will be representing his interests in this matter.
I will start of by confirming that it was our organisation that had purchased the Elysium facility off Deep Space Solutions. It was also under our assumption that they would informed the Legion and now it seems the dissolved Commonwealth government of this change. Ideally it would have made this entire affair a lot smoother admisitratively on both our ends. Such sloppiness of paperwork is regretful but alas can naught be rectified at this instance. That being said I do request you disregard Miss Gunsmith's bluntness in the previous message in hopes of it not straining negotiations any further, her opinions are irrelevent at this stage. The League would be more than happy to pick up whatever slack was left by the previous administration and fully register this station in the records of, given the latest news of the occurences in the Vespucci system, whatever new soveriegn entity has decided to lay claim. That being said there is a unique clause to this situation and an explanation as to the state of disrepair the facility finds itself in now.
League engineers are in the midst of preparing Elysium station to be moved to another location, the logisitics of said move focusing much of our attention. The damage it appears to have sustained is in fact us physically ripping out components we are not sure would survive the move. As a precaution, we have evacuated the crew, and are systematically clearing out everything sensitive. We are hopeful that it will take a maximum timespan of 6 months to move the facility, but the intricacies of moving such an object out of system, either by conventional means or more exotic options such as Jumpdrive usage, the timeframe may be more.
Again I do apologise for this and look forward to ironing out the mundane but crucial details of authorising our stay in the Vespucci system.
Best Regards

Understanding the sloppiness of some individuals can be equally as messy as the mess it makes. The Legion will look past Ms. Gunsmith's comments, however, and we can hopefully come to a conclusion soon.
Given the explanation for Elysium's disrepair and lack of crew and amenities, we can understand the conditions. This does, however, offer up a few new questions, such as why the station is being moved in the first place, as well as the location the station is being moved to. I hope I don't need to remind you that Vespucci is seeing a considerably active Legion presence which, while a security in its own way, can also be a beacon for pests to move in and capitalize on other nearby systems the Legion would otherwise be offering defense towards. If the station is being moved to other areas within Legion space, but outside of Vespucci, then we would like to know where so we can organize a potential defensive force to defend against pirates, as well as to calculate the required funds for the rent of Legion space.
If the destination for the station's parts are outside of Legion space, then we would also like to know for consistency's sake. Organizing the defense of a station that is being removed from our space is a wasteful endeavour, with our resources better put elsewhere to ensure we can root out the Legion's enemies.
Once we have answers to the above questions, we can begin working out a payment deal for the remnants of the station. As it is currently inactive and devoid of life, the Legion will be lenient and not tax it as a normal station of its size.

Your request for clarification is a reasonable one, and one which I am more than happy to elaborate on.
The station itself is slated for relocation to the Edgeworlds, more specifically the Omicron Delta system. This area of Sirius we can safely assume is far removed from the Legion's usual areas of operation. I digress however, a great portion of the League's operations in this region centers around this system and with the ever present Nomad threat there our security forces are in need of a more permanent garrison than their current Bustard carrier which is stationed there can provide. In regards to the defensive needs of the station while being present in the Vespucci system, we highly doubt there will be much of a need for Legion assistance, as you stated yourself your forces have much more pressing concerns to deal with on the homefront than some half abandoned station. While it would be greatly inconvient for both of us if the Republic of Liberty decided to bang down the proverbial door, such an occurence we think would be highly unlikely. The Exitus squadron sent to guard the station are more than enough to deal with any wandering ne'er-do-wells that approach.
In regards to the taxation of the installation while League personnel perform the necessary retrofitting and sub system stripping in preperation for transit we more than happy to accomodate any request. The League and the Hellfire Legion have had little in the ways of diplomatic contact before this time but I am more than confidant that from this small interaction greater channels of communication can be opened for mutual economic benefit. The latter the Patrician is greatly interested in.
Please state your terms and we can begin the negotiations in earnest. I look forward to your reply with great anticipation.
N.B: In the event that the transit occurs before the projected end date, the League will still be more than happy to compensate the Hellfire Legion for hosting the Station in Vespucci in the preceeding time interval.

Before I go further, I must inform you of a substantial change in the Legion's presence within Vespucci, and indeed within Legion space. None of what I'm about to say will directly effect the League or Elysium, but this serves as more of an update to allow you and your people to work around.
The Legion has, in coordination with the Separatists of Bering, effectively dissolved and reformed into a branch of the much larger Liberty Insurgency. The Legion's command structure remains the same, but know that these communications will be linked to Insurgency Command at the behest of Admiral West, who commands the Legion's forces, under the title of 'Battlegroup Gladius'. Any reference to the Legion hereafter will refer to this entity, for coordination's sake as well as for legacy agreements.
Now, on to the matter at hand.
Legion forces under the Vespucci Home Guard will be notified of the station's defensive standing. Those willing to defend their own within our space, so long as they forward the appropriate monetary fees, are more than welcome to affirm their defensive status on their own terms. The Legion will remain on guard to assist with the defense of the station should it be needed, but will leave the rest to your 'Exitus Squadron'.
Monetary fees can be sent to IN|Bank in the amounts of 75.000.000 per month. This fee will be considered void once the station is confirmed to have been fully transported to the Omicron Delta system, so as to prevent misunderstanding. This should help keep account for any unexpected deviations from the planned end date. I would also ask that each payment be logged here starting on the first of every month so as to keep a record of transfers, or else the bookworms may revolt. The fee for the month of June can be paid at any time from now until the end of the month. Every month after should be paid within the first week of the month.
If this works for the League, then the Legion will be awaiting your response.

These terms are amenable to the League and we agree to this settlement. The funds for the taxation for the month of June have been forwarded to your accounts, following payments will be made according to the Insurgency's wishes until the time when the installation has been vacated from the Vespucci system.

Overview:We're rolling in a Carrier by Mulvane. With the completely expected refusal of the Liberty Navy to advance on the system with a habitable planet, we've come to the conclusion that it's perfectly safe to extend our feelers back to the region around Topeka.
With the wild success of the Roseville project before it fell to what we concluded was an assault by the maniacs in Lost Company, and the dissolution of the Commonwealth leaving private concerns floundering a bit, we figured we'd roll up in a Carrier and act as a semi-respectable go-between in Kansas for the plausible deniability factor.
Insurgency Command has acknowledged the presence of your carrier, and Insurgency forces will be notified of such. If any issues arise, you may direct them here.
