The Enatola

Prologue

When APM was bought out by Interspace Commerce they were able to access a wider span of credits and thus began the early stages of making new Makos. This new experimental wave of Capital Ships gave leaders the confidence in finally being able to achieve their longest standing goal to date, to be the sole authority in Omicron Delta. Currently the Order, Zoners and Nomads are all struggling to take full control of the system but neither have the funding the Core have. First out of Alabama Shipyards was the Experimental Warship Enatola. This is their story.

Alabama Shipyard

Its no question that Alabama Shipyard has gone through some recent changes over the years. However when Interspace Commerce bought out the APM they decided to keep things largely unchanged in the hopes of not disturbing the constant flow of repairs and ship producing. Any disturbance would greatly affect the security of the Rho system and the war fronts the Core are currently engaged in with the Nomads, and the Order.

With more funding available to them the High Command has ordered the new wave of Experimental Mako's begin production and started with the Enatola. This Vessel was to focus more on technological advancements instead of being a brute force front line warship. The Enatola's purpose was to be able to pinpoint and target threats that the main body of the Core Fleet could not detect. One of those examples are nomadic cloaks. Especially dangerous if left unchecked nomads have the ability to shield themselves from visible sight and scanners. Thus giving them an opportunity to flank our forces on the battlefield. Standard counters are a wide range of electro magnetic pulses that can reach out several kilometres however have a long cool down. Recent battlefield statistics indicate the Nomads probe the Core fleets in the hopes of forcing them to use their cloak disrupter's early and this allowing the nomads out of range a window of opportunity to flank. The Enatola was slated to detect, and target from a range of seven kilometres and effectively engage the cloaked Nomad and providing coordinates for the core fleet to fire and take down the nomad.

Technology

War is not only won by sheer numbers but by the tools the participants use. Technology can be an effective tool to utilize when you dont specifically have the numbers to overwhelm your enemy. With unlimited funding from Interspace Commerce, the Core has spent tremendous time and effort into long range cloaking detection and pinpoint targeting of cloaked vessels. One of these new advancements allow the Enatola to receive an increased detection range of cloaked signatures up to eight kilometres. Once the signature has been detected the Enatola's mainframe can process and separate trace elements and use it to locate and set coordinates to fire. How can we do this you ask? Over time the Core has experimented, dissected and went as far as trying to utilize nomad weapons on their ships. Their DNA so to speak was separated and processed by the latest super Neural Processors we know today. Using this information the Enatola has access to millions of samples that date back to the founding of the Core. The Enatola also sports a higher output power core, leading technology in Medical Advancements able to treat wounded soldiers and if needed provide them to civilians as well.

Construction

With all of the new technology being poured into the Enatola the standard Mako frame is limited in space and standard utilities had to be abandoned. In order to have a super Neural Processor onboard the Enatola sacrifices the ability to house a small group of Fighter and bomber wings. This in the eyes of the High Command was a necessary sacrifice as the Enatola would not be dispatched alone and generous fighter cover would always be available to her. The official construction start date was 825 A.S. and was slated to be completed and fully operational by mid 827 A.S.
