Kadesh Meeting Room - DHC

A vast meeting room was barely lighten by the sun though wide panoramic window. Everything seemed to be prepared onboard the Kadesh Orbital Colony for the meeting with the Daumann Heavy Construction specialists, so Jack went through a straight corridor from the landing pad to this location, since there was not much to do, beside await for the guests. As Jack entranced the room he headed straight to the window with his thoughts "Well, it seems everything is prepared for meeting with Daumann specialists". He was quite nervous, that's the very first project that he attended, due to his architectural and engineering education. "C'mon man, you went through so many edge situations, so will be with current" he took a deep breath and attempted to relax. "The job was done, so its time to think about of details, holograms of the project were already loaded to the console, so I'm sure there's wouldn't be an understanding about our needs...".

Finally, after two weeks of traveling through Sigmas and the Omicrons, the Daumann shuttle docked on Kadesh in Omicron Zeta. Visibly relieved the crew left the ship and the team of architects and engineers began their way to the meeting room. A long corridor was ahead of them, Viktor Waldmann who was appointed to be the head of the group talked to the rest - in a briefing manner before entering the meeting room. "I hope you are excited guys, this will be something new to you, we haven't done out here in the Omicrons, just do your job, alles klar? The door opens and the team enters the meeting room. "Hallo, we're the team from Rheinland we've brought some equipment with us we could use a place for that to build up and begin our work, my name is Viktor Waldmann by the way." He reaches out with his hand to the man in front of him.

Jack extended his hand for a strong handshake "Mr. Waldmann, respective Daumann Heavy Construction engineers, a pleasure to welcome aboard into this project. My name is Jack Anderson I was appointed to be a representative of new Kadesh Orbital Colony construction. " Jack turned around and moved to the table, by the hand gesticulate inviting DHC representatives to have a seat in a round table." I understand that it was a long way to get you there, but circumstances force us to speed up. Of course, as the hosts we will provide everything you would need after a long journey. I can give you a short brief before the break, if it was an exhausting journey, especially if you are not get used to such distances." Jack took a look around Daumann representatives "Mr. Waldmann, what will you say?"

After they shook hands, Waldmann turned around to his team."Setzt euch, we have a lot of work to do." The team didn't hesitate to take a seat at the meeting table. Waldmann took out his holopad to take important notes. "So, Herr Anderson. What is your plan? Please brief us on everything nessesary. Our Generaldirector only told us you wanted to build a space colony like station? You certainly heard about the Augsburg Space Colony and the circumstances around it? I hope we won't run into such troubles this time." Waldmann took a seat and began record the conversation.

"Mr. Wildmann, you are absolutely right. Are you capable of reading people's minds? Omicrons void change people…" He smiled politely, and guided guests to the table. As he sat down he took his pad and pressed several buttons. Light had been changed from natural light to twilight, though faces of surrounding people were lightened up by an hologram, which had been rotated slowly a bit above the desk. "Augsburg Space Colony, it's one of best examples our people met with. If new Kadesh Orbital Colony would be the same as it used to be before disaster came into the Munich, it will be beyond our dreams. Our explorers did a little reconnaissance mission within the populated part of the Sirius and Augsburg Space Colony altogether with Niigata Star City being taken as one of the best example colonies / city type construction. Due to our requirements of amount mooring points, we have taken out a decision on Zeus class station… " on the screen appeared a 3d blueprint of the station with several highlighted parts. “So our project base should be pretty much as Augsburg if question of requirements, if not getting into details”.

"As for details our Construction department made a rough 3d copy of Zeus Station, according to public data and open space scans. You shouldn't be worried about how legal it was, our vessel just made an exterior hull scan, all other data, decks bays and room measurements were calculated by our specialists. " Jack gave a look around delegates and continued "Probably it was a waste of time though it did its job on better understanding how to project such immense installations, which we never produced before. Nevertheless, it will save up some of our time."

Jack made several symbols by his hand and the hologram zoomed closer to the central part of the blueprint "So, let's begin. We have divided base decks and bays, each of them have their own purpose, which would allow us later an easier maintenance of the colony. I'm gonna start you from the heart every installation, reactor section and storage section. Our engineers believe that it should be the best place for the reactor and its subsystems, tight armor from outside and inside the station is a complex multi-layout armor, which should be capable of absorbing heavy battleships attack or bombers attack also preventing a fatal terrorist attack. Yet it's a module, like any other section it should have a separate life support systems and jettison systems per end of the reactor circle to replace them. Or, a worse scenario, to save up people onboard of the colony and let reactors to explode without rest of installation. Same applies to the storage section, it will contain rods and various equipment to service reactors and the whole station, so should be covered well from incoming fire. " Jack by his hand made a model even closer, showing every deck and room details "Of course, I'll transmit all details about the project to your personal pads." He stopped presentation on a vast room, which is supposed to be in the middle of the station, the most secured area "That will be the reactor room. We are yet not sure what type will be used, but currently we are used to old reliable technologies, such as several 2 closed contour nuclear reactors which used as coolant deuterium, which applies to most PHWR systems…" Jack turned his face to Viktor and continued “What’s your thoughts so far, are our schematics close to what had been on the Augsburg? Our expectations is met with your capabilities?”

Waldmann leaned back and listened to Anderson carefully."Ja, as you see Augsburg had almost the "same" layout as your 3D model here. While Augsburg Orbital Colony has three times the size of this station." Waldmann was tapping on his holopad and brought up the 3D model of Augsburg Orbital Colony "As you can see the size of this station is enormous compared to yours. Jedenfalls, the plans you showed us are more or less public access and there's nothing to worry Anderson." Waldmann adjusted his glasses as he leaned over the 3D model. "The requirements to build a Zeus class station won't exceed our limits the problem with Augsburg was rather simply "finanzierung" the Government of Rheinland had trouble financing the entire project and so it had a delay after delay. After that, the dark matter storm sealed not only the fate of the colony and also the entire system of München not to mention that the apartments were simply too expensive for the regular citizen of Rheinland. I think the Station should be finished within a few months, as soon as the transporting of the materials has been concluded. All in all, not a heavy task - the building of the station at least but the Omicrons are rather dangerous so we might run into unforeseeable problems." Waldmann stood up and walked over to the Coffee machine."Entschuldigen Sie mich, but my throat is rather dry and I just like coffee, do you want one too? as he turned back to him.

Jack slightly nodded "Yes, please. Though I prefer more heavy drinks, but that can be arranged after discussion on the project" he slightly smiled, reminding of a fresh vodka shipment, a rare drink in the Omicrons. "So anyway, to your point about its size comparison." Jack distanced the hologram, showing more modules of different size that were attached to core of the station "I thought you are aware that current works only covers up works for core of the station. Per it completion it will be much easier for us to expand it with deployed defenses. So the Zeus class station will be used as heart of the station - its powerplant, launching pad, mooring bays and other essential basic requirements. Per completion of the core station in design of Zeus class station, we would like to invite you into discussion of the extensions in a detailed manner. If you have retained the blueprint of what had once been called Augsburg Space Colony, it will be really appreciated and used along after completion of the Zeus core.”

Jack had been waiting for Daumann specialists response, assuaging that his question would get the response. He glanced at them, but something had changed as they received a message on their pad. A dead silence filled the room, making a meeting with professionals an awkward moment. "What would you say Mr Waldmann?" He raised his hand, took a glass with the water and slowly sipped it. A sudden message came on his pad, Jack dropped his eyes to check the message. Jack eyes raised. It was message from Mr. Burton. He told him to come into his cabinet and accompany Daumann guests away from Kadesh Orbital Colony. Jack stood up and said in an unswerving voice "Gentlemen, I believe our meeting is over. Thank you for providing the interest in our project. I'll accompany you straight to the shuttle.".
