Edward Bryne, '\S/' Antares Cortez System, Accurate Since: 17 / 09 / 830AS
Orbital Cartography Report
Curacao
Located in Delta 3
Comments: Planet Curacao, an oceanic pearl illuminated by the blue light of the only sun of Cortez. The official headquarters of the company Orbital Spa and Cruise.
From here, trade lanes depart to the California system, the Manchester system, and, still under construction, the Coronado system. The archipelagos and the largest floating artificial complexes are visible even from orbit.
Corcovado Ice Field
Located in South Sector
Comments: Corcovado Ice Field: An asteroid field primarily composed of ice, likely formed by the collision of two larger objects ejected from the Barrier Gate during the formation of the solar system. It contains within it the rift leading towards the Magellan system.
It's worth noting a significant presence of Liberty Rogues. Patrols control nearly the entire perimeter of the field. As I ventured deeper inside, I was initially only followed. The closer I got to the gravitational center of the field, the patrols began executing dangerous maneuvers and eventually fired warning shots. I turned on my heels to avoid further trouble.
Roatan Ice Cloud and Paloma Ice Cloud
Located in West Sector (Roatan) and East Sector (Paloma)
Comments: An appendage of the Barrier Gate, just like its twin, the Paloma Ice Cloud located in the sectors farther to the East. A nebula composed primarily of water and ice, with medium-sized icy formations, except for some larger ones in the extreme South of the nebula.
Scenically fascinating, especially at its borders where sunlight manages to penetrate the gases and illuminate the ice blocks. Inside, you can find the rift to the Inverness system and the Jump Gate to Manchester. It's worth noting numerous Rogue patrols, though fewer compared to Corcovado.
The twin sister of the Roatan Nebula. Presumably, these two celestial bodies are separated by the interacting gravitational forces of the sun and the planet Curacao.
Water vapor, ice, so much ice. The usual Rogue patrols and the rift to the California system are present.
Blue Dwarf
Located in Center of the System
Comments: The blue dwarf, astronomically speaking, is a rarity and, in the centuries before the exodus, a purely theoretical concept. Small in size but extremely bright and hot (as you can see from the images). I believe it is worth delving into further and more in-depth research on these rare celestial bodies.
Pristine Ice Mining Zone
Located in Delta 5
Comments: As you can imagine, is the conglomerate of Ice-61-rich asteroids from where "Pristine Ice" is extracted.
Edward Kane
Located in Charlie 5
Comments: A Pelican Armored Transport. Its transponder is unable to transmit on its own, but it can be queried using our ship's short-range communication systems. The latest information on its location indicates an emergency exit from the tradelane and an unusual fuel leak. Inside, as far as is visible, there is no sign of the crew, and the black box appears to be missing.
Station Wreck
Located in Echo 5
Comments: This is truly surprising to me, despite the years I've spent on Curacao. An abandoned space station. No name, no identification, not even a sign that could hint at its ownership. There are no leaks of radioactive material or fuel, so apart from the metallic fragments, it's easy to approach. It was probably hidden within the Paloma Ice Cloud and emerged when its fuel ran out. Currently, according to calculations, its orbit should cause it to evaporate into the star's corona in a few years..
Battleship Yukon
Located in Delta 4
Comments: The Yukon is the most illustrious victim of the battleship Betheny during the Battle of Curacao. Analyzing amateur and official footage from the surface of Curacao, you can see how the Yukon maneuvered within the range of the Bethany's short-range cannons, rendering its engines unusable and, thus, at the mercy of the Gallics' torpedo formations.
Battleship Betheny
Located in Delta 4
Comments: The battleship Betheny was leading the Gallic rearguard during the rush towards the California system. Finding itself isolated in the Cortez system and surrounded by overwhelming fleets, it met its fate in orbit around the sun of Cortez, but not before sinking the Yukon and its fleet.
Inverness Rift
Located in Bravo 4
Comments: Well, this one was easy to find.
California Rift
Located in Foxtrot 5
Comments: Located quite far inside the Paloma cloud, difficult to find
Coronado Rift
Located in Delta 3
Comments: The rift is practically just a few clicks away from the edge of Curacao's atmosphere. Incredibly close. It would be worth understanding whether the planet or the rift itself are influenced by the presence of the other.
Magellan Rift
Located in Delta 6
Comments: Inside Corcovado Ice Field. Quite dangerous to reach due to Rogues patrols scanning the area for lone wanderers like me or lost transports.
