Hi everyone! I'm an old Freelancer (never played anything other than the original) but can't seem to get Discovery to get on my new PC. Seems I'm a better pilot than computer tech. Can anyone HELP!? Thanks
Yes as @Kauket says, if you follow the install guide it should work, it explains everything you have to do, but it sounds like you are stuggling to locate the launcher, maybe this helps.
Install the Game first and then the Mod. Locate the Mods launcher. Depends on where you installed but if you just went next and didn't change any location it should go to the "Appdata/%Appdata%" location on your PC. Easiest way to locate that "C:\Users\YOUR USER\AppData\Local\Discovery Freelancer 4.91.0" Add the Launcher (DSLauncher) to your desktop and open it.
After it is open go to the "Account tab" at the top, right-click and make a "Create new account" fill in the fields as you wish and generate a code, select it by double clicking it. You will know the account is selected as at the bottom left it will say "Current Accounts: YOUR ACCOUNT" and then say "launch Game" at the top right.
That should launch the game.
Blessed in he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.
Im using windows 11 as well but it works. I had installed freelancer at first. did all that fun tech stuff. Then realized the Discovery mod is standalone and didn't do anything to the actually freelancer files of the original. The launcher is helpful. Like everyone else said just make sure you follow the install instructions most of them should be automated. Good luck hope to see you In space!
