To whom it may concern,
Good day. I am Marika Hornik, director of Resource Acquisition Division at ALG. It has been some time since our last common projects, beyond the occasional shipments we've sent out east. I'd like to change that, and I have a few plans on my desk that might be of interest to you.
But first, I'd appreciate some news from the Omicrons. How goes the struggle against our enemies, the human, half-human, and alien among them? How is your security and supply situation?
For ourselves, we are finally reaching a level of stability after the losses of the civil war, and are slowly regaining the ability to consider new investments, though we are still decades away from reaching our pre-war capacity.
I wish I could say it is any better. Situation in Omicrons is even more unstable than you would be led to believe at cursory glance. The only constant is stalemate in upper Omicrons. Our lines in Zeta hold comfortably against our enemies and our holdings in Delta keep supply lines open. Core, unable to dislodge us, had turned southward. Omicron Kappa reportedly fell to them and are now boggled down with a backline of Corsair ‘reconquista’ and toaster stragglers.
Lower Omicrons is largely where things deteriorated the most. Corsairs had invaded and claimed Freeport 9, prompting Outcasts to frantically respond, further destabilising the entire system. Zoners had surprisingly avoided armed response despite the rise of militancy in their ranks. It is reasonable to say they had likely expended too many funds and assets into the Erie Liberation Front. If Zoners and Corsairs do not find a peaceful resolution, Theta will be bathed in the blood of thousands Hispanics, Zoner colonists and whoever is caught in the crossfire on a daily basis.
Personally, we are concerned about Rheinland’s Kaizer declaration of war. His assault on Dresden killed more than just some pirates. Bundschuh’s Bautzen station has been destroyed, effectively ending any hope of reformation from within. The only thing to follow will be more violence. I do not believe ALG has the strength to oppose the regime directly, but we still nonetheless hold your ability to not follow official party-line in high regard. It is a highway in the Colonies.
We are willing to discuss further cooperation naturally. If you have something in mind, we will listen. If not, we will have something lined up for you in near future.

Grand Admiral,
These are concerning developments indeed. Particularly the loss of Freeport 9 as a friendly waystation has made travel into the eastern Edge more challenging than ever, already a daunting prospect before. The one consolation is that the Imperio harbors no particular ill will against us, unlike their northern brethren, and can usually be convinced to allow passage for payment. Our animosity towards the Core, and previously the Bretonian Crown, seems to have earned us at least the mildest degree of respect.
The takeover of Gammu is concerning as well. Truthfully we know very little of these strange machines, but no expansion of the Core can be good news. As I was told, a division 5 pilot reported an encounter with one of the robots in Mu recently. They have vowed revenge against the Core - or whatever the mechanical equivalent of the sentiment is, so perhaps that is a silver lining.
As for the developments in Rheinland, these at least we've long anticipated. The nominal legality of the Bundschuh party was never going to last, frankly we were surprised it held as long as it did. We will continue to support the movement as best we can behind the scenes, though with our greatly diminished influence, we're unlikely to be able to perform any overt lobbying.
Now for the project we have in mind, and the reason why it's my division contacting you, and not Security or Shipping. The eastern Omicrons, and Mu specifically, have some access to resources locally, like the abundant water ice, and some with reasonable proximity, like fuel from the Crow.
But many must be imported from far away, especially fission fuel and any metals besides iridium. These are, of course, exactly the products this company specializes in, and generally what we bring along whenever we find pilot that's brave enough for the trip, a trip which as mentioned, hasn't become any kinder over the past years.
Reduce-reuse-recycle is the basic principle of sustainability, and sustainability in the edge worlds equals self-sufficiency. So, we are looking into the viability of establishing an industrial plant on-site to increase the self-sufficiency of your organization.
A smelter could use metallurgical waste from your ship-building and industries, as well as remains of the many battles you find yourselves involved in in the sector into usable alloys. A chemical refinery could reduce wastage by reconstituting excess into usable fuel.
Such a plant could greatly reduce the need for expensive imports in the system, reducing your operating costs - and naturally, we would be hoping for a profit out of those now-reduced costs for ourselves.
Obviously, such a facility would be a major project, and this is the earliest stage of planning.
Is this something you could principally find interest in?
After reviewing and discussing your request (and its viability) in thorough detail, consensus so far agrees to grant preliminary consent towards realisation of this project. To begin with, your surveyors will be given access to our space for purposes of determining best locations for industrial plants of this type. However, we have a condition that any and all settlements will be nominally under control and rule of Order law, not Rheinland or its derivatives. Rather than interfering into your own affairs, we are concerned primarily about potential infiltration from third parties otherwise flagged friendly to ALG. Such arrangement would allow us to better deter and counter any potential security risks to the system at large.

Grand Admiral,
We're very pleased to receive your preliminary approval. I've sent a construction engineer on-site, she should have arrived already. She will be familiarizing herself with the locale, and examining up-to-date star charts. I expect her report within the week, which we will be forwarding to the Overwatch as well.
I don't imagine the grand admiral himself would be pouring over technical documents like that; if you could provide contact of an engineering team of your own, that would ease planning significantly.
Regarding the legal status, such a facility would naturally fall completely under local law. It's not an embassy after all, least of all of the Empire of Rheinland, a state which as you know we don't exactly have the best standing in. It goes without saying that we would only consider business with outside parties of Silver level clearance or above by Overwatch Space Regulations.
Business with such outside parties may well be necessary, however, as our own fleets are rather overburdened at the moment. Omicron Supply Industries seem like they might be an obvious partner, given their very name.
