I am the captain of a research fleet operating within Deterrence. One of my pilots recently made some interesting discoveries during deep expeditions into the Omicrons and several uncharted worlds. I will include images of the findings in an attached report.
The vessel with the callsign "Costa_D_Raven" was on a scientific excursion in Omicron Pi, where the crew discovered what appears to be a Nomad Energy Cell. The pilot immediately secured the item and delivered it to the Deterrence Sanctum.
On the return trip, during a short stop at Ionia for supplies, the pilot was intercepted by two ships under the callsigns Noth-1 and Noth-15. They attempted to inspect the cargo, but the pilot managed to escape and reached Freeport 9 safely. After the area cleared, the artifact was successfully delivered to Sanctum.
On another mission into uncharted regions, the same vessel retrieved a highly valuable Containment Pod. Unfortunately, the pod was damaged and appears to be missing key components that would allow us to fully analyze it. The first delivery reached Sanctum without issue. However, during the latest expedition, where the crew located an additional pod that we hoped contained the missing parts, the ship was intercepted again by the same Noth pilots.
This time, the vessel and cargo were lost. Reinforcements arrived and managed to recover the pod, but they never reached Sanctum. We believe their ships were destroyed in a dark matter storm in Omega-58. At this point, the artifact is either lost or in enemy hands.
Fortunately, the crew ejected and was later rescued by Corsair forces responding to the distress call.
We hope that you and the Evia scientists can analyze the recovered items and determine their purpose — and how they might be used to strengthen our cause.
Once the rest of my research fleet arrives with additional cargo, I will provide further updates.
Until Than my regards.
I have received your message with immense gratitude.
It is disheartening to learn of the troubles caused by this Noth-Squadron.
Rest assured, we shall maintain a vigilant watch over this developing situation.
Let us now turn to more pleasant matters. The Deterrence Science Division has taken the liberty of rerouting a small portion of our funds to your personal account.
Please, accept this as a token of our deepest appreciation for the risks you have taken in the name of our research.
I do hope this modest sum of creditos will be sufficient to supply you and your crew with some well-deserved rum.
Should you require any further assistance from Deterrence resources, do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Your request to use the diused wing is hereby authorized. As for providing with personnel, unfortunately all my trusted men are currently busy with operation fortress that is why we even authorize you to use your men for security reasons however a continue report of your research and operations is to be provide to the Command and the Executor.
As per for the talks with the Logistics commander, I have informed him to get in touch with you. He is away on an operation and will attend to you when he gets back.
i put my trust in your dedication and hope for a success of all the operations done in and from the Sanctum.
I am delighted to hear of your positive response,
and it is with great pleasure that I have taken the liberty of rerouting some of my most trusted personal guard to the Sanctum.
Their presence will ensure our continued security and cooperation.
Some funny tale to tell from my last visit on Sanctum.
On my last visit, I found myself searching for a supposed "Deterrence Science Division" wing on the station's official maps,
only to find it conspicuously absent.
Therefore, I shall be taking a stroll through those restricted corridors myself, with an armed escort to ensure our safety.
After all, we must ensure that all research conducted under my official command - is indeed conducted under my command and aligns with the greater goals of Deterrence
and its esteemed high command.
We must be certain that the research that was and may still is ongoing there is in our best interests and under our control.
May the sair empire prevail and may Crete rise once more!
During my recent time in Sanctum, while waiting for the rest of my research fleet to regroup, I came across some old cargo logs. These logs detail equipment transfers that occurred before the Core and their allies attacked the station.
Interestingly, the records mention that a team of scientists had already begun examining another Dark Matter Core, discovered by Nicolás Diego’s research vessel. I’m not certain how far they progressed in their studies, but I believe their work could greatly support our current research efforts. There’s even a chance we might recover the original containment pod.
I’ve attached the archived scientific reports to this message for your review.
I am pleased to announce to Deterrence that my personal guard and I have successfully located
and secured the "Deterrence Science Division Wing" within the Sanctum.
After a... gentle conversation, the scientists were made to understand the new chain of command.
They now fall under my authority and, of course, the authority of the executor himself.
I am happy to say they have accepted this new arrangement without complaint.
During our review, we found logs mentioning a "Nicolás Diego", listed as "Head of Logistics",
though I believe he was stripped of that rank. Another name, "Niebla Estellar", also appeared,
but this individual seems to have disappeared completely. It is of little consequence.
The research data we have secured is sufficient for my team to proceed independently.
We were able to acquire the complete log files of both the vanished scientist and Mr. Diego,
just to be thorough.
However, to ensure the project continues seamlessly, any insight Mr. Diego could provide would be invaluable.
It would be most helpful to know if others were involved and to confirm which supply shipments reached the project successfully.
Congratulations on the smooth taking in of the research wing. As far as the research wing and you are concerned all the documents and logs of the research are already provided in the wing. There is no need for you or your crew to move forward with any unnecessary enquiries about the wing.
You are authorized to continue with your research and are also allowed to approach Mr. Nicholas Diego for reference of the project.
Thank you for the message.
I feel a broadcast of my own is necessary to ensure we are all aligned on a few matters within Deterrence.
While it is true that we have secured the research wing, I must interject with two points of order.
First, regarding security: My personal guard will stand watch over the wing, protecting the project and all personnel involved.
This is not open for discussion. They will keep standing watch over the research wing in the Deterrence Sanctum for the time being,
until we have a clear path forward for this research project - cause for as of now it is the safest place.
Secondly, and this is important, I need to correct an assumption I made earlier.
I spoke as though Nicolás Diego was stripped of his rank after a falling out with our beloved Executor.
Regarding this quote:
Quote:During our review, we found logs mentioning a "Nicolás Diego", listed as "Head of Logistics",
though I believe he was stripped of that rank.
I assumed this to be the case, and for that, I can be mistaken.
While he remains missing, we cannot know his current standing.
I truly hope, given his history, that he will prove to be a valuable asset to this research and Deterrence should he resurface.
Executor, if you could clarify this situation for us, it would be very much appreciated.
First of all, I need to clarify two things: Contacting the executor regarding this will not help you, as I have not been deprived of my rank or anything else. Rather, I hereby announce my resignation as head of logistics so that I can fully concentrate on the research of my two cores. Therefore, the executor must now look for a replacement to fill this position again. Furthermore, I wonder how YOU gained access to MY research results, because they are under the highest security level and no one has access to them.
I also have a few words for Commander Ricardo Sanchez: Calling me a civilian is so disrespectful that I can't find the words to describe it. You seem to have forgotten who I am. Must be your age or something, I don't know.
If you are willing to participate in my research, Alejandra Sara Lopez, you must make some preparations on sanctum:
You need to remodel the station to accommodate more scientists, and we also need space for all the equipment. We also need 150 robotic units to handle precision tasks and 100 Energy Field Equipment to secure our research zones. It's up to you, contact me again to let me know your answer.
