Looking back, I remember everything.. every single detail... It's so crazy, so utterly insane. But I've lost track of time, here, out in the Omicrons. The labyrinths of Altair inspire not hope, but fear inside me. Fear that, after so much time spent base-side, I might end up as just another soulless wreck out there.
A man came to me, sat beside me, and explained how things were. He told me I was chosen by them. In our world, they are called Nomads. But to me, they are a higher power, a higher force. I no longer felt alone; They were with me on this new journey. The man who came to me explained that the process of planting the seed was more difficult than they had anticipated. I resisted fiercely. My brain refused to accept their Gift. There were failures, and it took time. But once They succeeded, my body slipped into a coma. I was alive, breathing, but unresponsive. They didn’t give up on me. They saw my potential.
Supposedly, I'm scheduled to board a shuttle in a mere few hours, bound for Liberty no less. It's a long trek, but it shouldn't be too difficult as far as security concerns go. We've not been told yet where we are supposed to arrive, but I don't expect anything less than some delapidated base in the middle of nowhere, some "abandoned mining site base". I find inner peace, however, in Our One Goal and One Purpose.
A brand new Avenger, just like the one that was destroyed, but even slightly improved. I was asked about the loadout, and they offered me the chance to use Our technology. However, I declined that offer. Even if it is more powerful, using Nomad technology on a mission near other ships might blow my cover. How could I explain to anyone that I have working Nomad equipment on my ship? Even the HN-C11 is included in the ship. For now, I opted for standard weapons: four Vengeances, two Debilitators, Shredder mines, and a cloaking device. They are so generous... if only mankind could understand what They can bring to them. The improvement to the ship is that its IFF was removed. People who encounter me in space will have no idea that I belong to Them. This is advantageous considering the nature of my assignments. It allows me to fly normally through Liberty space, though I must avoid landing on any bases belonging to mankind to prevent any suspicion.
Now, it’s time to take a walk outside and see how well the Gift fares in space...
