Alright I've been on this server for almost 2 years now, and I finally decided to blow some money on a battleship.
Before you go "oh no not another cap spamm lol wut.." I am not pimping it out for PVP usage, not putting cap 8 on her, actually no cap armor on it at all, and I plan to use it for missions and role-playing. NPCs beware!
So- weapons? seems one person says heavy mortar, another says dual mortars, one says pulse another says missile, flak or secondaries, tomaato, toomoooto
Halp! I would like an all around NPC cruiser killer, heavy fighter popper, but where and what slot do I place these guns in? I'm noticing alot of different strategies with different weapons, Range, refire, drain, usage. Lots of money to blow for "discovery." So to all you cap lovers out there:
Help a captain out!
thanks in advance, and btw, I will still love my other ships more, especially my beloved transport! *sniff*
I've got an Atlantis (Hopefully soon an Apollo) in New York that I've kitted with all BS Secondaries and a single Razor. No armor, but it gives cruisers hell. (Note to self: Put a few primaries on it)
Secondaries don't have much range, but the weapon speed matches nicely with a Razor. (As the three bombers I shot with it can attest)

I've been experimenting with some battleships in openSP lately. It seems that the missions against NPC B-ships are unprofitable. Usually, my repair bill is more than double the cash I earn, including the loot. Perhaps try out some loadouts in SP. I've found out that Cerberus turrets eat through NPC Bships pretty effectivly. And that Mortars and Missiles are .. well.. I'm not sure they're that great. Oh, and forget about that no armor nonsense... you'll need it very much even for easier missions.
