Unless I'm mistaken, this is my first communication to the Crayter Military directly, so I'll make an introduction despite our reputation in the field. I am Maria Cortez, current Defense Secretary for the Republic of Malta. In the past, Senor Santiago was the one to address the Military with matters regarding defense. With events occurring at Lipari, however, a matter has once again arisen requiring contact.
Following the recent escalation of some activity involving both the Nationalists from Malta as well as our neighbors in Gallia, Tau-44 has seen recent activity that the Armed Forces simply are not capable of responding to. While our defense vessels are capable, they are not of substantial enough numbers to repel the firepower that we've encountered within the Tau sector as of late. As such, I'm submitting a notice to the Crayter Military that the Republic is beginning preparations to transfer and modernize our mothballed assets currently in dock at Sabah Shipyard. I will be authorizing personnel to activate both capital-grade vessels, Santa Maria and Navarra, as well as their escorts and begin preparations for their transfer to Sulawesi pending internment at a new facility within Tau-44. Expect their arrival within the next week.
On a related note, I'd also like to know Crayter's position on authorizing the movement of the captured Hellfire Legion dreadnought Ven'Gyr to the Armed Forces' command as well. I'm aware the vessel is officially under the Military's jurisdiction, but seeing as the vessel is still idle within Sabah's drydocks after half a decade with minimal maintenance, I see no reason Crayter should keep devoting resources towards the status quo. I can assure you the Armed Forces will put the ship to far better use defending Eolie and Borneo's inhabitants, and I'm sure the extra mooring space will assist with the Military's operations in neighboring Inverness.
