SV-Endeavor, Fearless Class Cruiser SV-Aurora, Corvo Class Science Vessel
RE: Deep Omega's
Upon hearing rumors of newly discovered systems in the Omega's the SV-Aurora departed the Omega-3 system in search of a jump hole to the newly discovered systems. Relying on reports from Starfliers and a Freelancer encountered at Freeport 1 my ship and I set off for the Omega-41 system. Upon reaching the Omega-41 system we set course for the provided coordinates and located the current location of the jump hole into the uncharted Omega systems in Sector G8.
After entering the jump hole we found ourselves in strange new system seemingly devoid of any stations, habitable planets, or refuge of any kind. Within seconds of sensors coming on line we were attacked by multiple ships including two Scorpion class gunboats which were piloted by unknown entities. I immediately ordered the crew to combat stations and returned fire. After what seemed like hours both gunboats were destroyed and we were able to salvage some prototype components and various armaments of Nomad origin, however, there were no escape pods found which could identify our attackers.
Believing this was a random encounter I ordered the ship to begin a standard grid search of the system (while maintaining a combat posture) to search for any points of interest or locations of scientific value. While engage in cruise to our next set of survey coordinates a missile warning appeared on the HUD and we were immediately forced out of cruise. While waiting on weapons to come back online the ship began taking heavy fire from a Rheinland "Donau" class cruiser. As soon as weapons were back online we returned fire with our Razors and Forward gun while engaging in evasive maneuvers and ducking behind asteroids to recharge shields and weapons.
Realizing that we were incredibly outmatched I ordered the crew to engage our cruise engines and get some distance between ourselves and this unknown hostile, however, we were constantly hit with cruise disrupters and were unable to escape. With no escape available I ordered the ship to turn full astern and return fire on the Rheinland cruiser. We began taking heavy damage and our shield batteries were fully depleted and there appeared to be no hope for my ship and crew. Just when it appeared all was lost a Zoner Cruiser appeared and immediately engaged the unknown enemy turning the tide of the battle resulting in the destruction of the Rheinland cruiser.
Realizing, that this newly discovered system was too dangerous for our Corvo Science Vessel I immediately ordered a return to the Omega-41 system for repairs. As it was clear that we would need a more powerful ship in order to explore these new systems I used our available funds and purchased a Fearless Class Cruiser christened the SV-Endeavor. Once the Endeavor is fully outfitted we will return to the "Deep Omega's" as they are called and continue our scientific research of these systems.
