A while ago, even before I got banned, I asked the staff what would they think about someone using real encryption inRP to hide secrets from a specific public while only the intended recipients (the staff among them if they want to ensure rules are enforced) would be allowed to read its contents.
The reason I asked was probably obvious to most of you but I'll explain why this would require getting their blessing and why I personally think it'd be fine.
With the current state of affairs roleplaying off-site or in secret is fine, many people roleplays through in-game sessions sitting 100 clicks from the nearest solar and so long it's real roleplay you can act on it, for example two characters discussing a bounty in-game, as long as such bounty terms are within the scope of ID rules it would still be allowed. Other people does the same but entirely off-site on a secret Discord chat, and the same applies, and you can even hide that from the staff.
The problem with these two approaches is that they do not allow character or roleplay development, unless you make a forum post about it, that's the kind of thing I was looking to solve; since all of this is allowed anyway why not give a middle ground? Post roleplay with real encryption and you could even keep special roleplay secret from the broader community, while the staff gets a decryption key so they can read whatever they want to either enforce rules or process player requests, the main issue however is the english-only rule, encrypting a forum post essentially renders it unreadable because that's the whole point, so doing this technically breaks that rule, unless the staff is willing to grant an exception on this.
On a scale from 1 to 10 how much do you hate this idea?

Use encryption sites and pass codes to trusted people. It's one thing to get a code, another to find the right site. It will be difficult for outside players to do this without leaking information through a third party. If there is a dispute, players will be required to decipher the message for the staff. I see it like this.
But, in general, this is too much hassle, because workarounds will be found, in any case. Public RP (if you can call it that) is always non-public, and violators of this rule can be punished for metagame.
We have already thought in the Brigade about how to make a couple of encryptions and publish them as encrypted voice messages on YouTube. So that no one except us would understand what this even means. But at the same time, everyone would pay attention.
Context: The forwarded video is a message received on a busy frequency by the secret UVB-76 installation, whose tasks are still unknown to anyone (some people assume that it is related to nuclear weapons, which, by the way, is not the case - IMHO and some Wiki information). Maybe we'll try to do that someday. It would be a cool vibe, you know.
Discovery is a server of dreams. And I'm a big dreamer.

I'm not using any sites to encrypt and I'm pretty sure you're mixing encoding and encryption, I'm talking about using real encryption with plain text armor, it's not the same. Real encryption involves creating a PGP keypair and using those keys to encrypt the content of the message, only someone with the private key can decrypt such, and the private key also requires a password to be able to decrypt it.
If it's still unclear what I mean I can post an example here.

Good luck breaking elliptic curve cryptography. The whole point of this is so that people can't ever metagame nor be sanctioned for metagaming, because they technically can't.
I enjoy reading the rp posts but using encryptions would put me off as soon as i saw them and not bother trying to,
even Binary or Hex codes would be a right pain to read using exterior programs.
Just play the game without being too smart Mr Turing.
