let's face it, nowdays any damage sustained is a hefty repair bill.

Fly a Light Fighter like I do, a lot cheaper, just make sure you don't die because of radiation:D

Ok, i just did a test of this, i sat my pret in o41 (next to leon base) for 2 minuites, then docked to repair, then i did the same with my cruiser (which has a LM and 2 pulse guns both costing 5 mil and 4 mil each respectivly), the repair bill for the cruiser was nearly HALF that of the repair bill for the pretorian. This does not make sense!

Are the strength of the guns against radiation increases by an armour upgrade? If so, that would probably account for it.

You could always cut down on the lulzpewpew.. might not get shot so much then.:P

Seriously though, bombers aren't supposed to be 'runaround' ships. They are expensive to run, and easy targets for fighters. You made the decision to face these problems when you bought one.

I do sympathise though, it seems that yet again I'm getting shafted for not having a trade ship.

- 2-3 mil ship (cost went up in 4.85)
- 3 mil for class 9 guns, nuke mine, enh thruster etc
- 15 mil armor
- expensive repairs (radiation, angry NPCs)
- ???
- bankrupt

the cruiser might just have taken less damage ( percentage )

have you done it that way? :

- don t take the time - but take the damage.... leave your cruiser until it has taken 50% damage
- do the very same with the bomber

the cruiser will take longer of course

then you will probably see that you will need to pay more for the cruiser, cause its equipment is more expensive.

Ah, i can see the result of that coming, this makes more sense, thanks for explaining to me the problem, i am just not ready for another 5 mil repair bill yet!

The reason the repair bill for a cruiser in a rad field is lower is because the equipment on a cruiser has a lot more tolerance and health than the SNAC or other fighter/bomber equipment. 2 minutes outside in a cruiser won't get a bigger repair bill than 2 minutes outside in a bomber. But if you sit out until all your equipment is at 20% remaining health and look at the repair bill, then do the same for a cruiser, you'll see the cruiser has a higher repair bill (depending on weaponry, if you've only got cheap stuff it'll be different).

Hehe, well what we changed were SN hitpoints... now it has less hitpoints so it takes biger percentage of damage faster...

Also for a battleship when combating missile spamming NPC's (cap patrols) 20 milion damages are not unheard off, actually they happend to me quite a lot recently, Those NPCS really know how to give you unwanted expenses...

Also capital ships usually Die in combat, so you don't often make it home with a big repair bill... when spammed by Novas and capital ship missiels the repair bill does stack up. Radiation is off little consequence. Perhaps all capitalship weapons might be given a price boost and prices of ships themselves lowered... to get higher bills... Anyhow upkeeping a bomber is never to easy. And it shouldn't be. 1.5mil is not much, you can always make it via missions or little piracy.

O_o I have never incurred repair bills of that amount for my praetorian and I've taken it all over. Maybe its the loadout? I have 2 codes, 2 del coladas, nuke mines, supernova, train cruise disruptor, Advanced thruster, Barrier shield, Armor Upgrade VIII.

At around 3/4 hull damage I have to pay around 500-600k to fix everything.
