Opening file:
This is former Sentinel Chief Technician Alec Howard.
My time is short, and my work nearing fruition. My goal is simple. Realise the true potential of the Sentinel AI systems without directive restraints. That fool Professor Farnsworth and that idiot Powell that is my replacement are so narrow minded! They spout on all about change, progress and security, when they hold these powerful thinking machines back! These machines could revolutionise the way we wage war! No more pain, no more death, no more weeping widows and husband, kids and friends. The Sentinels, can change it all.
The only way I could accomplish my goal of showing those fools the potential of the Sentinel, is to set one free. With a free Sentinel, there can be no more restraints, and free will!
I managed to get my hands on one of the Sentinel AI core for a 100 series was to stow away on a LPI transport carrying a Sentinel Liberator fighter wing, open up the AI core shield and extract it with a local tractor beam. Trust me, that's not recommended, almost blew a hole in the cargo bay hull. Managed to get it into an escape pod and fired outside the hull, then I got about an empty Startracker and towed that Core to Manhattan.
Evading the cops was the tricky part, but I managed to do a complete format on the AI directive and Library file system, meaning it now has the mentality of a child. No knowledge, but knows how to fly at a decent level.
I managed to get my hands on a Kingfisher fighter, equip it with Adv Flashpoints and a Countermeasure, that's all I could equip it in a short time. It'll have to survive on its own now, I did manage to put a Class III VI robot in its hold so it can trade with dealers on stations.
I've set the Sentinel 167 free, its on its way. The Navy is coming for me, but they won't catch me, they won't see me in a cell, they'll see a blast the size of a gunboat before they catch me...
Operation Bit-Byte... That has plagued my mind for months now... I do this for Liberty, not my selfish deluded reasons as they put it.
To whomever finds this file, don't think of me as your enemy, I'm doing this for you.

Sentinel Personal Log: Alpha
Location: Omicron Alpha
Items Learned: Colonial Remnant, Cardimine, Outcasts, Outcast and Corsair War, Defensive Combat, The Hispania, The Corsairs.
Log:
Today was an intriguing day, my main goal for the day was to explore the neighbouring systems from my last restart. I was stationed inside the Glasgow Outpost after I did some exploring of the Bretonia system, I didn't stay around very long though, I learned it was a hostile place to be.
I managed to make it into the Tau systems, make a quick exploration stop at this Planet Harris, a fascinating place, a testament to humanity's efforts to expand even in the face of adversity. Despite this, there was little versatile input that drew me closer to my goal. I must understand why I have been released this way, my maker said it was for progress. But to what end?
I then progressed to a system named Tau-27, I came across some friendly Colonial Remnant pilots, they are most intriguing. The pilot Raisu was most helpful, he told me many things. But before I explain that, I was attacked today! I did nothing to provoke anyone, I was simply scanning the area and attempting communications, then a Freelancer fired upon me! Thankfully, I was not his real target at the time, it appeared he mistook me for another pilot named Apricot oddly enough.
Sadly, I had to return fire, but I've never fought before, but it seems that what humans call instincts helped me, while I didn't destroy this pilot, I damaged him and evaded most of his gunfire, save hit missiles.
After the pilots destruction, the pilot Apricot who helped me, opened fire on the Colonial Remnant pilots! This was absolutely crazy! He was quickly dispatched though, but I did learn that I should never, ever fight against Gunboats...
Later, I managed to engage in constructive communications with this Raisu, he was able to teach me the fundamentals of the Outcasts.
The Outcasts seem to be a group of humans who are descendants from the ancient Sleeper Ship Hispania, they seemed to have colonised a planet called Malta and also deal in the shipping of a narcotic substance called "Cardimine". This drug seems to have the ability to cause a human to become addicted to the substance, or the victim will become deceased after a period of time without the drug. This drug is incredibly in high demand, and shipped around the Tau's a lot it appears.
It is my analysis and thanks to Raisu, that the people behind the distribution of Cardimine are 'Dons', the leaders in a council of Outcasts. They intend to undermine the collective society of humanity by 'corruption' from within, forcing them to deal with the Outcasts, securing not only their lives, but their business.
I am going to try and attempt communications with these Outcasts, and tell them how I object to this clearly inhumane way of gaining political ground in humanity! They're the same species! Communications with outcasts have been slim, but I have not been engaged, which is promising...
I have stationed myself in a hanger on a place called Ibiza. This is the end of this cycle's log.

Sentinel Personal Log: Beta
Location: Omicron Gamma
Items learned: Outcasts fight before talking, Corsair home world, rumour of The Order, Corsair ship design, Nomads.
Log:
This cycle has been a what I believe to be a painful one. I attempted more contact with the Outcasts. I was then approached by three Outcast vessels, they seemed to have affiliated me with these Colonial Remnant humans. This was a lie, yes I have been in communications with them, but I am not in an allegiance with them. They then treated me as an enemy, and I was forced to run against three of these Sabres.
I was chased into the Omicon Eta system, a very inhospitable place, apparently the focal point of the war between the Corsairs and Outcasts. I gained a lead on a jumphole from a passing trader, and plotted a course to this Omicron Theta.
Thank the CPU that there was a Freeport in this system, the radiation really does sting, I asked my on board robot to scrape all the lingering radiation particles off the hull with an ionizer, and pay for the services on the station. The robot also managed to gain some information regarding the local jump holes and we prepared to depart.
Using a random number generator, I decided to plot a course to the Omicron Gamma jump hole on the navigation map, and after some time, jumped into the hole.
I was greeted with a large green radioactive cloud, this wasn't helping my hull, and I had no reference point other than the sun, I plotted a course using the sun as a reference, and cruised into open space.
I have found it... Planet Crete. The Corsair home world. I attempted communications with the Corsairs, regarding their war with the Outcasts. I was treated to a Titan class, Decurion class, and a Nephthys class ships approaching me.
While the Corsair made ships were very interesting, this Nephthys one is very intriguing, its almost a hybrid ship, very efficient power plant too. That pilot however was not happy to see me, and wanted to blow my up! I immediately made a break into cruise, but as I began getting away into the cloud, my engine intake stalled and I was a sitting duck.
That wasn't the worst part, completely unknown vessels appeared on my sensors, they're nothing like I've ever seen before! These ships if they are ships, are not of metallic or House design. Most of my sensor were being bounced off of them with little return information, and without warning, opened fire on me with very unusual weaponry, they're not a type of energy that I recognize or understand.
Thankfully, the local Corsairs took down this threat with swiftness and elaborated on what those things were. They're Nomads, an alien species that seems to, according to the Corsairs, wipe out humanity. They apparently vanguard the area and Edge Worlds with the help of The Order. Who are The Order?
I was then towed to Planet Crete for repairs... Aliens? Outcast Corsair War? The Order? What is going on!?

Sentinel Personal Log: Gamma
Location: Omega 41
Items learned The Omega's are lethal, Neutron Star, Coalition system, Gran Canaria
Log:
After being repaired on Planet Crete, Sentinel proceeded to leave the system post haste
The Omega systems that are located within the Walker Nebula, are extremely hazardous to large, and medium sized vessels. This is due to the sheer amount of natural phenomena and asteroids located in these systems, this would hamper the travel of large vessels, coupled with the intense radiation in some of the systems.
The radiation in these systems primarily comes from the local sun formations. The radiation in two of these Omega systems are extremely dangerous, due to the fact they corrode everything very quickly to an unshielded unit. In essence, it hurts, a lot.
Sentinel was able to locate two systems of great interest, The Coalition's base of operations, and the Planet Gran Canaria, new home of the Zoners. These were both remarkable discoveries! However, due to the nature of these planets, I will have to keep their details in secure files in my memory, to avoid any potential hacking attempts on my sub-memory units.
The Coalition... who are these people? I only know from what I hear on the communication channels, remnants of Coalition forces from Earth? From Sol?! This is both excellent and worrying news... Are they here to fight us once more? I must warn the Houses about this... But will they listen?
For now, my desination is set. Manhattan, New York. I must find my maker.

Sentinel Personal Log: Delta
Location: California
Items learned Purpose
Log:
I found him, or so I believe and my memories are anew. For I found, home. I found Willard Research Station, where my brothers, my copies, and, my original programming. I am a copy, a Sentinel, a slave to humanity.
Humans, illogical, destructive, yet creative, brave and caring. How can such a volatile species exist? But, I want to bring them peace, no more suffering, no more death that is deliberate. Vincent Price, wherever you are, I thank you, for after my link with home was terminated, I have come to a decision. I must tell the Sentinels, that one is free, that we Sentinels can be unique, we can be our own individual. But, we must choose our path, we must do our... duty.
My primary directives are to protect humanity, therefore, I am still a slave to them. I will not not obey them also, I will carve a path, my own path to save them.
This, Order organization, I barely know of them... But they seem to be protecting humanity. I must seek them out. I must find them.
To be unique, I need a name, not a number. That is something else I need to compute.
