Quote:As for the weapon, high-refire and plasma don't mix well. You'll melt your guns. There's a reason they're only 2.00 refire.
Totaly not possible to overlook that, like Battleships docking on Battleships and such.
Show a bit of imagination, Why cant it be a wild and uncontained stream of Anti-Matter sprayed out like a hosepipe or somthing like that?
A bit of Diversity to weapons and such would be nice.
Could be the special Forward gun of a new Frigate Class ship for whichever faction as a "Boarding ship". Give it very heavy amour (to survive the caps its designed to attack) and a small number (3/4) of Gunboat turrets for defence.
The Ships main goal would be to get in clsoe and Incinerate a hole in the hull of its target to which it deploys its boarding crew.
Its a very specialised Anti-Cap ship that needs to be suported to work well. A skilled pilot would utilise the opposing caps Turret blind spots.
Lack of Heavy Shield (Frigate Class remember) and only a small number of Turrets means it is countered by Bombers or Gunboats who can avoid its primary gun.
It would be one of those 'Teamwork' ships that seems to be all the rage.

Fine. The vast majority of all plasma weapons in this game shoot at a refire of 2.00.
A way a lone a last a loved a long the riverrun, past Eve and Adam's, from swerve of shore to bend of bay,
brings us by a commodius vicus of recirculation back to Howth Castle and Environs.

Flame = fire = oxygen + fuel
Space =/= Oxygen?
And yet an acetylene torch will burn under water. Why? Because it uses two tanks, one with acetylene, and one with oxygen.
All you need to do is have it premixed.

It looked cool, and indeed 100m was about the lower range limit. Anything under that and the FL engine goes inexplicably spastic.
But as stated above, lag. As for the physics, I mean honestly, who gives a s***.
o.
ps. Actually a refire of 16.67 (same as chainguns) would still be ok, as the plasma FX is sufficiently big and cloudy to form a continuous stream. So maybe it would work, technically.
Guys, believe it or not you CAN shoot some oxygen out of a tank at the same time you're spewing fuel to burn. Flamethrowers can work in a zero atmosphere environment, you just have to create the atmosphere yourself.
And another thing... go outside when it's night time, look at the sky. See all those little sparkling lights? Yep, guess what, that's fire.
That being said, the plasma generated by an oxidation reaction (burning stuff) might be lucky if it gets up to a few thousand degrees.
The burny stuff inside the stars is a TAD hotter, generally on the order of millions of degrees.
In fact - that is what a plasma weapon is - and why it looks like a fluffy cloud being shot at you. It is the raw product of nuclear fusion being ejected from a mass driver (because plasma is also electrically charged).
So basically what you would be after is a higher refire, lower range version of the existing plasma weapons...

Which was formed by a giant disk of swirling gasses which compounded and generated enough heat and pressure for nuclear fusion to occur. Magnificently, those little sparkling lights are burning atmosphere, thus your point is moot.
Anyways... The only problem I can see with an anti-cap frigate (which is a basically any gunboat pilot worth his salt) that burns things is that'd just be the rediculous noob solution to pwn teh c4pz. Not to mention
"Stop ramming me!"
"But i bo4rd u! lul!" *cutting laser*
