PanGal is a fairly new and unofficial faction. This even should promote participating factions and donators.
Story:
The CEO of the PanGalactic Travel Company exclaims a race for all willing pilots, which leads to all OSC bases in Sirius. Start would be planet Curacao, then the journey would go to the Shetland liner in Edinborough, afterwards planet Baden-Baden, the Hawaii in Sigma 19 and then back to planet Curacao. The winner would receive parts of the donated money, and so does the second and the third.
Until now this idea is trivial, but I want to introduce some improvements: on the various stations we could place ships from the sponsors of this race, for example ALG Waste Disposal (:P), Kishiro or Planetform.... the list can include nearly all lawful trading factions...
What I am not sure about yet is the exact route which should be chosen, pure trade lane paths, or free paths without trade lanes.
I would like you to come up with suggestions and criticism, to help some of the participating factions to get a name and to evolve the RP with this event.
Yeah we talked about this a bit on skyper. I think this is a good idea. If we can get the prize money high enough it would be a pretty cool thing. I'm willing to throw in a few millions as my PanGal, and maybe my Cryer CEO would donate a few more if he got to shout about how great drugs are or whatever.
One thing we talked about: Would this be better as one (LONG) race, or split in to 4 shorter races, from one OS&C destination to the next, with breaks between, and scores for each leg which were totalled at the end? This way, people would get to enjoy the OS&C facilities too!
Plus, more scope for roleplaying and such - Baden Baden could have a couple of Rheinland richies there to chat around and promote their company, Kusari boys at the Hawaii, liberty types at Curacao and Brets at the Shetland.
The more people interested the better this could be, I guess.
I say make shorter ones, if you make one long race, you would need muchj more personnel to watch the race for cheatong etc, and the score system is cooler, you could even make a tournament out of it.
Also I suppose you would restrict the race to fighter only (silly question maybe?)
I was thinking of having it being open to literally everyone - OS&C cruise after all has a history of having an 'open door' policy. Unlawfuls might have some trouble getting through house space but eh, that just makes it more fun
I would say free routes, but without Guard systems. If lanes only, well. The one who's fastest docking wins. Not good. Boring.
And if you give me a date, i migh either participate in it or donate something from my Kishiro Train.
And, what ships? Doesn't matter? But if not, i'd suggest no shooting or CDing. And Admin help would be possibly needed to secure those who participate in it don't get attacked by some lolwutters.
And yes, i'd also split it into parts, with bonuses to those who manage to become one of the first 3 more than 1 time.

Now this sounds like an event, I hope it goes well that way you could make it a regular thing. Maybe even sell VIP tickets for the best spots to watch the race and such. All depends on the routes.
