I and my commander in Ronin had just jumped from Omicron minor to Omicron Delta. Characters were Ronin|-Tzuchao and Ronin|Sen.Tsudo. When we jumped, Tzu 'suffered a self-inflicted catastrophic decompression' and lagged out. Shortly thereafter, I got a funny Console message, something like 'Ronin|Sen.Tsudo:Kick!:Lag>120 and I also disconnected. What's going on?
Be kinder than necessary, because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

You were kicked by console script for a high ping rate. It's a attempt at creating a level playing field to stop lagging players from jumping around and having a unfair advantage. If it doesn't happen often as it might have been a temporary connection drop to the server.
This thing has been the bane of my existance. Up until recently I was using the worst internet provider in NZ. It was satelitte and produced very high ping. 300ms to a server in the same city as me, and 700-1000 ping to the Disco server. I couldn't play the game for 5 minutes without getting disconnected.
I'm glad that's behind me now, but I still felt very cheated that the server was descriminating against me for having a high ping. It might be unfair to people fighting against people with high ping, but is it not also unfair to exclude them from the server entirely?
