Ok, Ive just almost finished my first ever ship! (yay) Its taken me along time to get moddling because ms3d wansn't working untill 3 days ago. But anyway, ive been trying to learn how to texture and just when I thought I had the hang of it I hit a big dead end. Im trying to texture some cylinders, but it wont paint the whole thing, only the middle. Heres an example pic, (not my first ship btw just to make that clear to everyone).

cylinder

See, notice how the top is a colour. How do I get the texture to wrap around the whole thing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don't you need to texture each face individually? Or something like that. I can't remember, but if so then selecting the upper face and choosing the desired texture should do the trick. That or I'm just speaking gibberish.

sorry if im incorrect, since i dont texturing in milkshape (i do all my texture work in 3ds max), but i think i may know whats going on, if the problem is similar to how it works in 3ds max. basically, your applied the texture to the entire shape, however, it was only mapped on sides, not the top and bottom. in 3ds max, there is a button called "quick planar mapping" which fixes that problem, mapping the applied texture correctly according to the shape of the selected polygon (in this case, it would be an octagon). im assuming the same can be done to fix the error you see there.

Go to Window>TExture Co-ordinate somethingorother.

Check the "Redraw" button

Remap it from the Left or Right.
