i never visted gamma untill after i had started playing discovery.....

kinda sad really.

and gamma is one of the funner ones to raid. and i think i may be one of the only people to have successfully pulled off a two man raid on gamma.

we did it.. but its a low %, most of the times you get swarm of cap ships, GB's and fighters even if you alone.

I think Alpha is beautiful in some respects, but I think that Gamma has better placement of heavenly bodies and stations. I, personally don't like how all of Alpha's jumpholes/planets and stations are all grouped so close together. It has a very ... artificial feel to it.

Gamma has a shipyard in the center of a scrapyard in between the jumphole and the planet. I thought I saw someone post about they didn't like to cruise by the shipyard just to get to the planet? That's because it's a better design. In Alpha, you've got all the planets grouped together and the jumpholes to the various Omicron systems grouped together. I feel like I can see the hand of creation just plopping down objects, promising to come back and fix it later but never getting to it. I personally think Alpha needs a little love and space some things out, maybe give a more logical placement of these things.

Also, is there anything in the top-right corner of the map? I've flown through there but never detected anything...

"The thirteen saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. The foundations of the Mansion House hotel stuck up above the ground. The stone was chipped and split by the fire. It was all that was left of the town of Seney. Even the surface had been burned off the ground.
Nick looked at the burned-over stretch of hillside, where he had expected to find the scattered houses of the town and then walked down the railroad track to the bridge over the river. The river was there."

Heh, sorry. Omicron Alpha's better.

I "found" Gamma first, but that was while screwing around on a local server, using Ioncross to move myself around. I wanted to see the Arwing.

There's a planet in the Siniestre Cloud up around that area. Now, in the top-left, there's nothing.

Gamma - Alpha

I remember finding Beta in SP-Vanilla & getting murdered by OC & GMG. So I went South & found sluggish Titans were an easier target for my Hammerhead.

I far prefer Alpha and it was my eternal home on every server I played on until I came to Discovery, when I realised that the RP for Junkers was more engaging for me. I prefer the OC ships, their big reach into the underworld & the SP-campaign generated lasting fond memories for me. Aesthetically I also prefer Alpha, but Gamma is not without its merits.

became a corsair so found gamma first, then on Barracouda I had to make an end-run into alpha for a sabre (which worked with someone simply saying after I got my ship "we need to patrol those jumpholes better") and I think they both are cool in their own way.

Gamma is comfortable, it feels like you are enclosed in a little box labeled "corsairs only". I like the colors, I like green:D

Alpha feels open and full of options, it is almost to the point of making you insecure and feel like you are standing outside the box.

Alpha definately. I found it first and called it home. I remember WAAAYY back when I first got the game. I ran through SP and thought I was in heaven when I bought my first Sabre. Been in love ever since.....

You ask me why Im weary, why I cant speak to you.
You blame me for my silence, say Its time I changed and grew.
But the war's still going on dear, and theres no end that I know...
And I cant say if were ever...
I cant say if were ever gonna be free.
