Well with the main server down I have been getting back into the only other game I've played online, an old Star Trek game called Bridge Commander (Running with the Kobayashimaru 1.0 mod)
Now if none of you guys have heard of the game, it is a ship command simulation game. You can control your ship from the bridge, or use a system of controls along with an exterior view to pilot the ship yourself. The later is used in multiplayer more.
There is alot of tactics involved, like shield rotation, powermanagement, etc. The KM mod adds alot more like blind firing to hit cloaked ships, mine dropping, launching shuttles and escape pods, venting drive plasma, and warp core ejection.
And, the KM mod is still actually played...the only downside is the 800 mb file in RAR format required to play.
So, for all you Trek fans out there looking for a good game, take a look at it sometime.
Servers are still up, but mostly for the KM mod....good gameplay.
And of course, if anyone else here plays it, I'd like to know...
give you a proper beat down in my Warbird
