I have a bomber and Hegemon char...I had a transport, now deleted. I am not a capwhore but I like big ships in space simulators...and ehm I think all of us play space sims becouse of the ships :-D Dont get me wrong I like fighters but I am using them in another servers...damn I am even creating them :-D but its get boring after a year...with a gunboat I dont want to just pwn the smaller ships...its about the RP...about being in the role of the captain of a battleship with crew and all the stuff. Players who played the old Frontier: Elite 2 know how cool it was when you had a Panther Clipper with 12 crew member...Another reason is that bigger ships are expensive and I hate trading, mining...actually the only server where I actively trade and mine is Discovery :-D:-D couse the ships and the **** ammo is expensive:).
About the civilian gunship - a good and logic idea. There are a huge number of illogical and stupid thinks in Freelancer, but one is the lack of the civilan and also naval ships. I mean in the whole Sirius sector there is only a few ship-building companies that manufacture spaceships. I am asking why? Ok, the DA and Microsoft was too lazy to create bigger number of ships or make a darn brainstorming and create some ship-building corps, name them and include them in the infocard. Its like for example having a Boening making all the civilian jets, or having the Ford making all the cars. Nonsense. I dont see the problem having a civ gunboat...
@ ... where did it ran?: I know that there are only factions, it was an example. Disco is not restricting my game here. Its my clan at another server that is. Its not a true limitation, just the rules restrict me to that clans tag, so I cannot use different clan/faction tag on all the servers excluding that one where the clan is official.
