Just an interesting role-play ship concept I came up with. Someone should make a yacht that has a cruiser shield and super-thick armor, but no regens. The role-play reason being that the ship was designed by a rich hermit with a phobia about robots. Hense the lack of nanobots or automated shield batteries.
Of course, the infocard would talk about how it would require a crew, as everything has to be done manually with pen, paper, and calculator for navigation and trade records, and manual controls + basic flight instruments for flying the ship.
But it's a *rich* hermit, so that's not a problem.
Of course, this thing would outclass any pirate stupid enough to not carry a load of regens, but all ships are meant to carry regens anyway.

Thoughts? Comments?
The way you describe it, the "hermit" is afraid of technology itself, not just robots. (Being afraid of robots doesn't necessarily mean your afraid of computers, etc.
Nanobots i can understand, but Shield Batteries? Nadathing robotic about em.
