The "Olympia" class GCV is a new type of transport designed by an unknown design team. The plans for this vessel were uploaded in an unencrypted format to the neural net with all the identifying and copyright information stripped, apparently the work of an unknown hacker or corporate agent. So far the design team has not stepped forward, perhaps to avoid embarrassment. Some suspect it was designed by an independant Zoner team, while others cite the Olympia's design as an obvious descendant of the "Titanic" Heavy Tanker. In any case, the Olympia has become a staple of shipyards across the sector, serving as a popular vessel for corporations and independent traders alike.

The design was heavily influenced by seagoing merchant vessels. The ship has a respectable armament of 7 turrets. Coloration should be similar to the corporate transport line. The containers are held in magnetic fields, and are discharged downwards where smaller tugs can take them into station hangars or onto a planets surface.

This has been a concept kicking around the inside of my head for awhile now. It's very rough, however, due to my horrible art "skills". However I think the community could really benefit from a 3800 transport, as many indie IDs top out at this number.

I'd like to start a discussion/brainstorm about this concept, to get some good feedback and commentary.

Yeah, the background RP is that this is supposed to be a medium transport based on the Titanic design, so I used a lot of styling from that ship. That's why I chose the name "Olympia", IRL the Olympia was one of the sister ships of the Titanic.

I would disagree that it is similar to the pirate train in any way beyond the very basic hullform, that is, they're both very boxy. On the Olympia there is a large rear engine room and accommodation block, the engines are placed much differently, there is no armor plating over the cargo pods, and there is a well defined bow and pronounced foc'sle.

Bingo. The Titanic is the only ship in the game that looks a bit like a seagoing merchant vessel, so it was the natural RP progenitor for a smaller ship based on the same aesthetics.

hmmm.

it looks like a tanker.

how about something thats the offspring between a train and tanker? two half trains side-by-side is what im thinking.

the pirate transport, with its distinctive unusual design (swedish house) could do with a bigger brother as well

This is the original concept I did, back when this thing was supposed to be a Kujira replace.
