Just don't forget that Eastwood, CSI, or Dreadd are so anachronistic these days. 900 years passed afterall. I guess only historians and Sol-fans watch flatvid movies nowadays. Star Wars for sirians is like Homer to us. And I guess only real eggheads would know CSI. It's like knowing how Hippocrates thought about how the human body functions. There might be holotain interpretations of the most successful stuff, but I guess that technology is obsolete too in the times of the neural-net.
I always preferred referring to imaginary movies (or 'tains, chips, whatever) like 'Cap'n Yarrrrgh! the Scourge o' da Seven Space'.
(other merit of that is that they won't yell 'import' to your nice idea)
EDIT:
' Wrote:But no direct imports please, you could always use common TV themes and create Sirius equivalents to them.
The movies I put up are only examples. I think I would like to make, our own themes.
The other thing I was thinking was make it some crazy religious sect. Have the entire faction start out has this group claiming to be this religion no one has heard of. They act in a manor befitting any normal religion but deep down they hide dark secrets, of plans of taking over Sirius, slaughtering millions. I think if played right it could be awesome. And in the end turns out this entire deal is based off of some whacked out movie, or book.
