Mining Bug

Recently i made a miner char, but as soon as i tried to mine i got to the silver mining field and blew a few rocks. when i made tractor beam i only got 1 ore for each stack floating instead of the quantities they were announced on the loot table.

I even made 2 more chars and the same happens to them, i bought samura industries id and a 650 cargo ship.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? I need to make money in order to play and missions will take an eternity until i can afford any decent ship and equip

Did you test different fields as well?
Is this only occuring in a specific field or in every mining area you try?

Q. How does the mining mod work?
A. The mining mod gives you a bonus to a base loot drop if certain conditions are met. If you shoot an asteroid with any vessel you will get X loot. If you shoot an asteroid with a mining ship using a mining laser with the proper ID and IFF you get X times Y.

So

Ship + Mining Weapon + ID + IFF = Bonus

If you are missing ANY part of the above chain you get nothing.

So, you got all of these?

No mining type ID, no mining equipment, no mining type ship. Samura doesn't get a boost in the Penn fields, a camara doesn't get a boost in any mining field, and since you don't have any mining lasers equipped you also don't get a boost for equipment.

But i see the ores saying there are 136 and when i beam i only get 1 on my cargo hold, the bonus only apply when i shoot the rocks.
I tried several fields (platinum, silver, water), plus on the UK discovery server i was able to mine the quantity i saw on my loot screen into my cargo hold.
Doesn't make sense have pulled 136 silver ending up with only 1 on my cargo hold.
I'm not trying to get the bonus... just to get what i see and pull

The number that appears on the loot screen is not the amount of loot present. It is the distance that the loot is from you.

This, because I'd be quite surprised if I was getting 136 ore at a time appearing.
