Born in one of the poorer areas on Planet New Tokyo, Kaito was the first and last child of Haruka and Masato Watanabe. Haruka died right after Kaito's birth, and left his father, Masato, alone with depressions. Kaito's life was always hard, since his mother died, he had to do all the chores. Masato was an former worker in one of the hangars on New Tokyo. He got injured very badly, so he was sitting on the couch the whole day. He couldn't work anymore since his accident.

Still, Kaito was a determined child, he was going to school and he did his best to ensure his survival and his fathers pride. Even though, he got bullied hard in school. Beaten up, reviled and harassed he still tried his best and every single beat he beared, made him stronger. One day, he doesn't want to get beaten up anymore. He has sworn to never get beaten again. At the age of 12, he decided to visit the Ju Jutsu Dojo in his city. With great success.. He was one of the most talented fighters there. He trained a lot, to be prepared and immune against everything he needed to bear. He now was mentally, and physically strong.

At the age of 15, some of his class mates wanted to beat him up again, which was a terrible mistake. Kaito was in some kind of rage, and injured two of them badly, one of them got even killed. Kaito knew he did something wrong, but he liked this feeling.. The feeling of power and hurting and killing. The next years, he got even more criminal. Stealing, brawls and harassing was his daily routine.

Besides, when he was younger, he watched many movies about piloting and ships and so on. It was his dream to be a fighter pilot since he was very young. And he already knew where, the Kusari Naval Forces. He always wanted to be pilot in the war against Bretonia. With the age of 17, he signed up for the KNF. Sadly, they refused the application. His criminal "career" was the reason for that. Kaito got all mad and furious, so he went independent. He opened up an own workshop, since he was a talented mechanic. With all the money he earned, he purchased his first own ship. A "Virage" fighter. He worked as a Mercenary since he was 19. He worked for factions like the Blood Dragons, the Chrysanthemums and several other pirating groups around Kusari.

Today, he is a dangerous young man who is extremely determined and strong-minded. He does know what he want, and what he doesn't want. His fighting skills, either as a pilot or in close combat, are amazing. He's always looking for the "kick" of life.

His interests are clearly unlawful, he likes to pirate and to kill. Kaito is even interested in joining one of the best known Kusarian Pirate groups.. The Kaizoku Gang really got his attention.
