So there are plenty of billboards on the planets - can we pay for advertising on these?
It looked like it was a failed attempt at in-game product placement from the microsoft developers especially given that Digital Anvil was advertised in several of the billboards...
They were now where near in game product placement, they were just trying to make a realistic future environment, and how can you have a city without ads?

Using it as actual advertisement - bad idea.
It wouldn't be so hard to change them...
Space ads would be nice as well, but not as actual advertisement (someone paying to have his stuff displayed) but as any other part of mod graphics.
Yup that's what I meant - but if product placement was actually intended that would mean changing the advertising might be easier as they would have provided a system to change those ads. If not, then clearly this idea falls through.
All cityspaces (IE when you land on manhattan, what you see around your ship on the 'deck') are CMP files that can be edited.
That means you could land on manhattan, only to find the city has turned into one large testicle.
Or that the ads have changed.
I never really pay attention to the background anyway.
I don't see what's wrong with companies in the mod (so like BMM) being able to post a small advertisement on a billboard around the planet with whatever they want on it.
So a big BMM logo with "Mining for the Queen!" or a BAF ad with "Sign up today- Down with Kusari"
