If so, didnt we already have someone ridiculed for trying to make a new faction?
I like the story line, but apparently we have too many factions, form what I see on other topics.
Not to start flames or bashes, just pointing out facts.
However, if everyone likes it, then good luck with the faction.
I remain un-biased, so I wont say anything.
good luck, mate

We do have a lot of faction, but the majority of those factions are, basically, PvP based. Yes, they roleplay (well, most of them), but their primary purpose is to pirate, catch pirates, or fight their own (or other people's) war(s). Or trade, in a couple of cases. This faction, along with the Slavers' Union, is filling a position none of the other factions fill: Dedicated haulers of contraband. Not just traders who'll occasionally haul a load of cardamine or artifacts, but traders who haul only contraband, of one sort or another. This can only add the the RP of the server, especially for those poor lawfuls who don't have much else to do.
Cheers for more factions that actually avoid combat.

Unless I'm mistaken, a BLS destroyer joined in an attack on Gamma yesterday.
Not a good start for such a good idea.
Really? Well, I wasn't aware of that. BLS should, in my opinion, avoid conflict except when defending themselves, other Outcasts or allies (especially cardamine smugglers), or Outcast space (possibly the space of allies, if requested). My Outcast (who has been sticking to Alpha for the most part) will attack invaders to Alpha (been a lot of those recently), but he won't chase people once they leave Alpha and Beta, and he doesn't look for conflict when he's out of Outcast space (only pirated once, and that was at Harris). Let the Reapers and Epigoni handle the assaults on Gamma.
Alejandro would also be willing to help escort any cardamine hauler who asks, free of charge.
It was a joint assault on Gamma embarked upon primarily against the SCRA, who are a powerful legal group. Also, it exists to an extent for self defense, and strikes against lawful groups if these group may pose a threat could be considered that. Other than that though, combat will and should be avoided.
