The Grande Guillotine was build before the Second Gallic War, as a guard ship, but with another name: Battleship Enfer. When the war started, it was sent as one of the first Battleships to deal with the Council. After 9 years of serving in the war, it has been heavily damaged by council ships and had to be called back into the homeland. As the Navy already had newer and better Battleships, they wanted to scrap the parts. But, as the Legion of the Damned was refounded in 816 A.S., the new Lord Mareshal, Enzo du Sable, needed a Flagship. Low on funds, he saved the old Battleship and hired the best Gallic technicians and armourers to reconstruct it to it's former glory and make it suitable for modern warfare. As the primary objective of the Legion was to capture and deal with criminals/prisoners, the Battleship was completely refitted: It became tougher, better, stronger. All of the old barracks were made into over 800 Prison Cells. The old training grounds have been transformed to an execution plaza - with about 111 Guillotines. This is why Enzo gave his ship the name "Grande Guillotine" - it should be a symbol of terror for his enemies, and of pride for his allies. Furthermore, the docking bays have been expanded so that the Ship is now able to carry the double amount of ships. The old center in the middle of the ship has been transformed into a great arena - for prisoners to fight till death, as gladiators, and the winner would become a Legionnaire. The remaining, small space was transformed into barracks for the Legion Troops deployed on the ship - either for ground missions, or to board another ship. Of course the hull and equipment was also improved to stay head to head against other Battleships.
Since then, the Grande Guillotine has been deployed in the edge systems, mostly dealing with the Council. It is rumored that over 100 prisoners are executed each day, and most enemies flee when they observe the terrible sight of the Grande Guillotine.
The population on the Grande Guillotine varies from day to day, mostly the number of executions are compensated by new prisoners or reinforcements of the Legionnaires.
The population can be divided into 3 groups:
Military
x500 Legionnaire Initiate: They are the lucky former prisoners who have become Legionnaires. They have still much to learn, and usually only 2 out of 10 achieve a higher rank, the rest of them die while trying so.
x250 Legionnaire Trooper: Highly trained soldiers, these men and women have undergone many tests and battles to achieve such a rank. Their low numbers are not their weakness, but their strength. Ridiculously hard to kill thanks to the Legion Power Armor and latest Gallic weapons tech, one of those elite soldiers can take down an entire enemy squad before going down. Only a small amount are on the Grande Guillotine for boarding operation, the rest are deploayed as ground troops.
Equipment: Culverin Blaster Rifle, Carbon Blade, Legion Power Armor Mk1
x200 Legionnaire Guard: Wearing heavier armor and weapons, these Legionnaires are unstoppable guardians. Able to fend off any smaller group of attackers alone, these elite guards are only stationed at high security cells, command posts or personal guards.
Equipment: Trebuchet Minigun, Flamethrower, Legion Power Armor Mk2
x20 Controller: High ranking, mostly older members who are not the best fighters anymore, but have a lot of combat experience. They give orders directly from the Lord Mareshal to the Legionnaires on board.
Equipment: Musketoon Hand Pistol, Controller Uniform

x65 Torturer: Highly advanced interrogation and punishment robots, programmed to show no mercy and get as much information as possible from their victims before those die painfully.
x111 Executor: Half machine, half man, these abominations have no mercy for the thousands of people they slaughter. No human being would be able to do what they do, that's why they have been genetically modified and equipped so they can be controlled like a robot. There are exactly 111 Executioners for the 111 Guillotines, each one carrying for it like for his own child.
x20 Experimenter: Handpicked scientists and researchers from all over Gallia, they are carrying out tests on soon-to-be executed prisoners. Mostly they only cut off an arm or two, but if more is needed, they take more.
Prisoners
Prisoner: The usual prisoner. Most already know they are going to die. The very lucky ones are called into the Arena where they fight for their lives as Gladiators. Only about 100 out of 1000 are called into the Arena each day.
x 100 Gladiators: Lucky or unlucky prisoners who have been given a chance to fight for their lives in the great arena in the center of the ship. Each one of the Gladiators can choose the following weapons: Sword, Dagger, Two-Hander, Axe, Spear, Maul, Steel Lash. Each day, 50 fall, and 50 win their lives.
