I have been using Discovery 4.85 for a while now and recently had to do a complete install from scratch on my Win 7 quad core 3GB RAM desktop. But I am having a download problem that is not the fault of the software.
My pc is reporting currupt files, but this is from every known source of Discovery 4.85 I can find, and it cannot be all their faults, so it is at my end. This was one of the reasons I had to do a virgin install in the first place. Something is going wrong inside the damned software. It WAS ok, as I said, I had it already installed. I tried 4.84 as a trial and it worked and installed into the Mod Manager so why will 4.85 not do this? and its not just Discovery 4.85 either, other software reports similar problems. I want 4.85 back, I love it.
Are there any other sources that I can use? I am using Kaspersky Internet suite 2010 and that was in before all this started so I do not think it is that.
I successfully downloaded mod into file just now but when I open same, it goes so far and reports file corrupt, same message, every time. and no, it wont load into directly mod manager without same error message. It appeasrs in mod list though.

mod manager just unzips file into right directory, i think you could delete .flmm and leave zip, and do it manually
i think i might be wronh
+ i might understood your post wrong
but im trying to help
You can't just unzip the mod file into your Freelancer directory. That's a sure way to corrupt your FL installation. FLMM mainly copies files, but it also performs some other scripted edits...
Opening it as a zip file is a good way to check if it's really the downloaded file that is bad, though. You can try to unpack it elsewhere in some empty folder and see if that works.
