Nice voice you got there sweety. Dang, ya' remind me of my cute lil' Bertha. It's a shame she's no longer with us. Anyways , I think I should start with me' name and such huh? Hmm .. I better stop talking to ma'self.
Well, the name's Eustace Barg , and I'mma 54 years old accordin' to that digital clock o' thingy. I'm a short guy, some others call us 'em dwarfs or whatnot. Anoyin' brats. They no nothin' about this. Oh well ...
But back to me, I've been ye' bounty hunter for more then 30 years. But I got old and can't keep up with 'em youngsters anymore. So I've decided to go back home and be ye' mining fella at Erie. It's a fine job ya' know, but all that freezin' and stuff in that Helium cloud was just not good for me. I used to have such a nice lil' ship, a 'Basalt' , but hat to get rid of it.
Anyways, I was lookin' for somethin' to travel with around in me' free time. Needless to say, I ran into a used 'Rhino' on ye' market. It was a cheap buy, so I couldn't resist. For a lil' tryout, I took it out behind Erie to take a look at them miners working in the cloud. It was nice to see all of 'em working out there, getting frozen, while I can do what I wanna do. Didn't spend much time there, it was freakin' cold again, so I took my new 'lil' baby back to Philadelphia. I went to the best place for some work. I was sittin' in ye' bar drinkin' a bit, when I heared some folks talkin about a bunch of "Robotic Components" that should be taken to Toronto Station in good ol' Ontario. They were lookin for a pilot with a ship. I was a pilot whit a ship, so I went over to 'em and had a lil' talk. They gave me quite a nice amount o' credits for the job, so I thought why not ..
The trip itself was really quiet, almost too quiet then from what it used to be in good ol' Liberty. But hey, at least I didn't have too much to worry about ehh? But it's not possible to fly around with 'em ships without runnin' into em Rogues and such scum alike. No hard feelin's about 'em , but back in my bounty huntin' days, they were harder to catch then now. Oh well, they must be runnin' out of people. Anyways, I didn't really have much other things on the way, but thank god I had to evade all the crowd in New York. It's a madhouse I tell 'ya. Anyways, I got over to Toronto safe 'n' sound. Me' first trip took me to the bar, where I was lookin' for the guy who's taking me' load off from me little baby. The guy was kinda' confused when I went over to him. He thought I'm some mercenary alike, cause I look so grim and stuff... Well, I think I'm handsome 'n' all , but everyone's a critic.
After gettin' me money, I got back to the bar to get me' self a drink and to find another job. Or if not, then just drink and go home. And guess what, I found me' self another job, but this one was a tough one. The guy wanted a load of platinum or whatever to be moved over to 'em Kusarians at Planet Honshu. I was wonderin' if I can actually get that trip done, but then I figured the "Oldum" , cause that's my ships name, can make ye trip without much of a trouble. Back to my darlin's name, the "Oldum" came from a book I was readin not long ago. I found it in a box in me ol' store house. It was about some mistical stuff and such, dunno where I got that, but it was interestin' cause I like 'em stuff. So I named my lil' darlin "Oldum" after some character that was in this book.
Back to this trip, I got me' ship ready and took of from Toronto. Going through Liberty, there was an unusual silence in me' comm system, which I was curious about, but at least I didn't have to break a sweat. Things went smooth until I got onto Galileo. There I ran into another of 'em Rogues, but thisone was in an ugly lookin' gunboat. The captain was a strange guy, probably ran away from ye' hospital, cause he was talkin' in a strange way ya' know. He wanted me to answer some riddle of 'his but it was hard to get 'ye point of stuff cause he was talkin' strange.
Fortunately a goon of him or dunno who came along, so he told me 'bout what the other was blaberin' 'bout. Got rid of 'em after some talkin' , so I went of to Kusari. Rest of the trip was rather long 'n' boring but I got to Honshu in one piece. I got some pretty nice cash for this trip ya' hear , so I decided to take a few days to look around this place. I'll be makin' another entry if I remember how to use this 'thing-of-a-jig. Be talkin' to ya ...
