Cash for RP

Can we keep the thread on topic rather than posting about killing admins (how is that even remotely related?).

A lot of people seem to think I'm saying we should get payed for RP. I'm not, I'm actually saying that the best RP of the week should get a prize so more people will try to have really cool RP's as opposed to the brain dead stuff most pirates/traders do.

I must say i agree with Crackpunch.

Also RP is not something that is Required of us, because if you Demand Rp then you wont get any thats owrth while, people will have to be self motivated to RP or Motivated in other ways.

Right now i do Alot of fun Trader runs In character chatting with people about all kinds of stuff InRP related.

Such as the neural net news, whats to liek about ships and whats not.

Those i RP with and myself we even INRP calculate our Trade routes


But im getting of topic here...

The gist of it is. People should RP because they want to not because they are forced to. Provideing a 50m Fund for RP'er of the month is not a bad thing and some of the old players should be able to do this if they want to.

Anyway thats my Two cents.

How will one determine what is better role-play than something else? If somebody has been here for umpteen years then they ought to know how to execute outstanding role-play. It would actually be unfair if they are singled out when there's a new player who comes in, having no idea how things work, and performs what we might consider to be average role-play. The latter could actually be considered more eligible for the prize.

I could honestly care less about the money. I've done some peculiar things in-game that could have contended for such an award but the thing is, I wouldn't have accepted a prize or I'd simply have given it away. It's like pirating somebody and giving them their money back just for the values of role-play and fair gaming.

Here's an example; many a'time I have been pirating with a light fighter, trying to rob some poor sod for a humvee so I can have a good ol' bash on the Rogue's local derby circuit. Once upon a time a passing transport captain, that I otherwise had no concern for at the time, must've thought "aww, what a nice little Rogue" and wired me a million credits that I didn't want or need on that character. It's an odd example, but it happened. The point is, they thought I needed the money when I was in fact enjoying being a pest in my Dagger.

The moral of the story is that it ain't about the money.
