Nokimi-san brings us great joy with the recovery of the Key and the Icon. Progress along this sojourn will be immeasurably easier now, the light of the Key serving as a brilliant beacon through a dense mist. No time was wasted in beginning the analysis, the Archive now possessing the soul alongside the mind.

We performed the essential battery of procedures, a bridge that spans what is known intimately to us and the hollow words of the Shells; we bring meaning to them, and breathe life into the language of these units. Infrared, Mass, UV Vis, Inductively-Coupled Plasma/Absorption Emission; the results have been checked against our Archives. We derive our Rosetta Stone.

The latticework presented within the Key, when transcribed through the Archive, assembles into a map identifying homologous proteinaceous structures between the Shells and those of our Brethren. From this, it will be possible to translate these structures back to their basic genomic counterparts. Synthesis of the first series of proteins is currently underway, being conducted via an in vitro environment analogous to those of Us.

There is yet more that must be done. Caches of knowledge exist beyond the Arch, those of which may reveal the next path in this sojourn. We will depart for Liberty in good time.
