As far as the requesting thread, why would there be, when you can simply buy one at one of the major bases? Then you can go buy your battleship and be on your merry way.

It's official, I have too few ships now...

i have a problem.
I have tried to install the disco beta 4 mod many times now
i have un installed and reinstalled the game and the mod manager to try and remedy this. however everytime i go to install the mod i get this message

Access to C:\Programs Files (x86)\Freelancer Mod
Manager\mods\Discovery484beta4\EXE\Common.dll was denied.

if i press ok and then try to activate the mod i get this

Error:unable to extract a file from the mod archive 'Discovery484beta4' File possibly corrupt.

and then this

Error:FLMM has determined that 'Discovery Mod v4.84 beta 4' won't properly activate

This was only the test run, so no files were changed (besides being decompressed).
Look in the log for more details.

I am running Vista 64 bit Ultimate and have never had any problems with the mod manager, the game or the mod before this.

It is infuriating as i cannot play anything except SP.
Im getting withdrawal symptoms please help.

Usual advice: reintall everything. FLMM errors cannot be treated any other way, unfortunately. Restore backups in FLMM usually works in a wrong way.

That's you're problem... Right, follow what Igiss said, reinstall Freelancer and FLMM. But instead of just running FLMM, right click on the shortcut and hit "Run as an Admin". It will work after that.:)

also click the check box that lets you run flmm in xp compatability mode.

Rightclick the flmm icon, click properties then compatability, click the check boxes for run as admin and run in compatability mode and you should be ok. I'm running the same os and did that and have had no problems. i also did the same with fl itself.

the only thing that won't work is account mamanger but you can work around that by using multiple accounts on your pc and switching between them. you will need to enter your fl multiplayer ac no. when you start up the game fro the first time in these new accounts but after that your away.

By using this method you can also have multiple chars on the server at the same time, don't know why you would want to but you can.

I can't get the beta mod to work. I use FLMM and activated the mod, when I start FL it says that version is 4.82? do I have to do a complete reinstall of the game? or a combination of two mods?

thanks for the help,
cevolved

The first what i do, is to make a back up of the DLL folder, when i have a fresh FL installation.
Then i do activate Disco mod. When i was going to start a newer version of Disco, i deactivated the older version, copied the DLL folder back up into the FL directory and activated the newer version of Disco.
Absolutely no problems.

You need to analyze the situation based on news and rumors throughout Liberty. Buffalo Base pays the most for cardamine, so that indicates that lots of Rogues are addicted to cardamine. If a Rogue is arrested by the LPI, the Rogue ends up in a prison in Texas. When the ex-Rogue is released from prison he ends up on Planet Houston where he does one of three things:
  1. Continues making consumer goods as he did while in prison, except that now he makes some minimal wages;
  2. Betrays his fellow Rogues and becomes a bounty hunter (possibly joining BHG);
  3. Goes back to being a Rogue.
If he succeeds in kicking his cardamine habit, he might go with any of the three options, but would be more likely to go with options 1 or 2. If he remains addicted to cardamine, he might try option 1 for a while, but eventually he'll realize that a factory worker doesn't make enough to support a cardamine habit, so he'll go with option 3. Anyway, cardamine addicts would provide a strong market for cardamine on Planet Houston, thereby accounting for the high price there.
