Yeah it is set up more like a Crow than an LF, and that's just fine. However it can still be "not that great" as Unselie says it should be, yet usable. WIth class 8 shields and the guns bumped up one notch it can be useful yet not the equal of a ship like the crow.

Well, I got there with no trouble in my Kiith Somtaaw LF with a class 5 shield and class 4 guns; and so I don't expect that getting out with my new Death Scythe will pose any greater problem. But then again, I'm just leaving, not actually fighting, so... take it as you wish.:P
Sounds like you're pretty neutral to the NPCs then;)

Yes, in theory they should be but...
LF's tend to have this exact (almost magical) cutoff value on agility and weapon systems that either makes or breaks them. Some LF's simply don't make the cut when it comes to fighting other ships even if they look like they should work. For example, the Bloodhound MKII seems like it would make an excellent fighter because it has three class-nine guns and better armor than other LF's in addition to a huge amount to strafing speed. But experience tells me that this kind of ship will never work against VHF's because it does not have weapons loadout or raw agility needed to fight other players and I would end of jousting a fighter with way better stats. Also, three class nine guns eliminates one of the only effective LF loadouts. There seems, at least in my experience, to be no way to really make a "heavy" light fighter work. The only exception I have found to this is the Slipstream because it has more guns, but most of the LF's that compromise agility for a a little more firepower tend to be the first ones to get vaped. There may be a way yet to do this, but this cutoff is why good LF's tend to feel the same.
