' Wrote:I know, but from system box they looks like they drawn anyway and you have to fly a very long way to actually crash into atmosphere. So i'd say it dosen't matter.
You should go to Rhy's Desire and fly to the east for just a short while.
You'll know how close they really are. (at least if they haven't changed that system in X3 Terran Conflict...)
And about having bigger planets, well...We can't make them realistic. No way. I say keep them the way they are. I'm also not sure if such extremly huge objects wouldn't cause problems.
the best way is to make huge planets like in burgundy.
left in one system one-two planets and put sun far from the systems border.
on huge you can visit many cities (many moorings one one planet)
and mining fields put to the rings of planet and some huge fields.
it ll make game much realistic
Of cause i'm talking in general, there is very few systems where it's close so you get a warning message soon. But usually you have to fly a half of hour with time compression factor x10.
But this is not the case.
I'll try something, but i need to find out how backgrounds are working in FL first, never worked with that before.
I've made stupidly huge planets before for my own amusement. The gas giant texture worked particularly well for a 50km radius one. Downside is the amount of work. If we were to do this to New York for example, we would need to increase the size of the system, increase the size of the planets, move the various stations and trade lanes to their new positions and then edit all of the patrol paths and zones.
Well it certainly is pretty...I have always wanted to try X3, but with FL, I think it would be a bit too impractical to change the planets like this...I mean the systems are working nicely as is and they would all have to be remade from the ground up

I mean, HUGE amounts of work.
its much easier to make new system with new object placement;)
